CAT 082-1807 (0821807) is a Caterpillar genuine axle retaining ring/external locking ring, compatible with 307E2/308E2 excavators and 242D/246D skid steer loaders. It is used to secure pins, bearings, and other shaft components, preventing axial movement and suitable for high-frequency vibration conditions, ensuring stable component connections. Cat®…

Core Parameters and Information

Item Details
Part Model: CAT 082-1807 (0821807) Shaft Elastic Retaining Ring / External Locking Ring

Type: Shaft elastic retaining ring, open type, DIN 471 standard, outer diameter positioning type

Material: 65Mn spring steel, galvanized and passivated surface, corrosion resistant

Key Dimensions: Inner diameter 28mm, outer diameter 35mm, thickness 1.5mm, opening width 4mm, groove width 1.6mm, groove diameter 30mm, total weight 0.02kg

Performance Parameters: Radial tension ≥350N, yield strength ≥1200MPa, temperature resistance -40℃ to +150℃, suitable shaft diameter 28-30mm

Compatible Models: CAT 307E2/308E2 excavators, 242D/246D skid steer loaders

Matching Relationships Matching pins, bearings, and bushings, this device is installed in the shaft end groove to secure bearings, gears, and other components, preventing axial displacement.

Suitable Parts: Suitable for the shaft end grooves of boom pins, stick pins, slewing bearings, and control lever shafts in 307E2/308E2 excavators and 242D/246D skid steer loaders, preventing axial movement and suitable for high-frequency vibration conditions (Cat®…).

Application Scenarios: Suitable for long-term high-frequency vibration operations such as excavation and loading, including continuous excavation and shoveling operations, ensuring the stability of bearings, gears, and other components, preventing axial displacement that leads to wear and abnormal noise, reducing the risk of component damage, and improving work efficiency and safety.

Usage: Matching pins, bearings, and bushings, the retaining ring is installed in the shaft end groove to provide radial tension, securing components and meeting long-term operation requirements, preventing component fatigue and loosening.

Installation and Maintenance Points

Installation: Clean the groove at the shaft end and confirm that the retaining ring size matches the groove. Use retaining ring pliers to widen the retaining ring opening and insert it into the groove, ensuring the retaining ring falls completely into the groove without skewing or jamming. Check for even tension and no abnormal deformation.

Maintenance: Every 200 hours, check the retaining ring for rust, cracks, and loss of elasticity. If surface rust is found, remove rust and touch up the paint immediately. If the elasticity is insufficient or there are cracks, replace it immediately to prevent axial movement of the parts.

Replacement: Disassemble the old part and check the wear of the shaft end groove. If the wear exceeds 0.2mm, it needs to be repaired. Before installing the new part, check the inner diameter, outer diameter, and thickness to ensure they are consistent with the original factory specifications. After installation, test the part for axial displacement and smooth operation.
