CAT 094-7099 (0947099) is a special lower retaining ring for Caterpillar hydraulic pumps/motors or gearbox bearing cavities. It belongs to the category of shaft outer retaining rings and is used for axial positioning of bearings, seals, or gears to prevent component movement. It is suitable for the power transmission systems of medium and large excavators, loaders, and other equipment, ensuring operational accuracy and reliable sealing. (Cat® Parts)
Core Parameters
Item Details
Part Model: CAT 094-7099 (0947099) Lower Retaining Ring
Type: Axle outer retaining ring (lower side positioning), suitable for axial positioning scenarios such as bearing cavities and gearboxes
Material: 65Mn spring steel, tempered and blackened surface oxidation, hardness HRC42-48, excellent elasticity and toughness, impact resistance, and corrosion resistance
Key Dimensions: Shaft diameter approx. 120mm, outer diameter approx. 135mm, thickness approx. 5mm, groove width approx. 5.2mm, single weight approx. 0.8kg, suitable for corresponding shaft groove dimensions
Compatible Machines: CAT 330, 336 and other excavators, 972, 980 and other loaders, suitable for hydraulic pumps, travel motors and gearboxes of C9.3/C13 engines
Matching Relationships Often used in conjunction with bearings, oil seals, and upper retaining rings, these are installed in pairs on both sides of the bearing to achieve bidirectional positioning.
Compatibility and Applications
Suitable Parts: Hydraulic pump drive shaft bearings, travel motor output shaft bearings, gearbox gear shafts, etc. Installed in the shaft groove, it axially locks the bearing and seals, preventing movement and wear caused by vibration.
Application Scenarios: Suitable for severe vibration conditions such as mining, large-scale earthmoving, and heavy-duty hoisting. Adaptable to medium to large-scale equipment power systems, extending the life of bearings and seals, and reducing leakage and malfunctions.
Core Functions: Limits axial displacement of bearings and other components, ensuring coaxiality, reducing abnormal noise and wear risks, and maintaining stable operation of the hydraulic/transmission system.
Installation and Maintenance Points
Installation: Clean the shaft groove and retaining ring. Use special retaining ring pliers to evenly expand the retaining ring before inserting it into the shaft groove, ensuring complete embedding without jamming. After installation, check that the retaining ring fits snugly against the bearing end face, without gaps or looseness, to prevent detachment.
Maintenance: Check the elasticity and groove condition of the retaining ring every 200 hours. Replace immediately if deformation, cracks, or loosening are found. Regularly check the temperature and abnormal noise of related components; disassemble and repair if abnormalities are found.
Replacement: Use original parts first. Verify the shaft diameter, groove width, and retaining ring dimensions. After installation, test operation to ensure there are no abnormal noises or axial movement, guaranteeing reliable positioning.
