CAT 094-7940 (0947940) is a dedicated axial retainer for Caterpillar hydraulic pump/motor bearing cavities. It is used to lock the bearing outer ring to the spring base, preventing axial movement. It is suitable for the power transmission systems of medium and large excavators and loaders, ensuring stable bearing preload and sealing.
Core Parameters
Item Details
Part Model: CAT 094-7940 (0947940) Axial Retainer
Type: Axial locking retainer for bearing cavity, anti-movement, pre-tightening
Material: 42CrMo alloy steel, tempered + blackened surface oxidation + galvanized, hardness HRC38-42, tensile strength ≥1080MPa, impact resistant, corrosion resistant
Key Dimensions: Inner diameter approx. 150mm, outer diameter approx. 180mm, thickness approx. 22mm, bolt hole distribution circle diameter approx. 165mm, single weight approx. 2.5kg, suitable for corresponding bearing cavities
Compatible Models: CAT 330, 336 excavators, 972, 980 loaders, suitable for hydraulic pumps/slewing motors of C9.3, C13 engines
Matching Relationship: Matched with spring base (094-7904), bearing, lower retaining ring (094-7732), single component matches 1-2 Axial Positioning Lock
Adaptation and Application
Suitable Parts: Rear end of hydraulic pump bearing cavity, rotary motor bearing housing. Locks the outer ring of the bearing and the spring base to prevent axial movement, ensure stable preload and sealing effect, and prevent oil leakage and bearing wear.
Application Scenarios: Mining, large-scale earthmoving, and other severe vibration conditions. Suitable for medium and large equipment power systems, improving bearing life and operational stability.
Core Functions: Provides high-strength axial locking, offsets impact loads, prevents axial movement of the bearing, protects seals and spring base, extends component life, and reduces maintenance frequency.
Installation and Maintenance Points
Installation: Clean the mounting surface and threaded holes, apply CAT special anti-loosening adhesive, and tighten in a diagonal sequence 2-3 times to the specified torque (approximately 350-400 N·m), ensuring a tight fit without gaps. After fixing, check for no axial movement.
Maintenance: Check the tightness and coating integrity every 300 hours. Tighten immediately and reapply anti-loosening adhesive if loose. Regularly check for abnormal noises and temperatures in related components; disassemble and repair if abnormalities are found.
Replacement: Prioritize original parts. Verify model and dimensions. After installation, test the power system to ensure it operates normally, without abnormal noises, leaks, or looseness.
