CAT 095-0943 (0950943) is a flexible retaining ring (C-type retainer) for the shafts of hydraulic pumps and swing motors in Caterpillar excavators/loaders. It is used to fix the axial position of components such as bearings, gears, and seals, preventing movement and detachment caused by vibration. It is compatible with Cat® Parts models such as 349/352/374 excavators and 982/988 loaders.
Core Parameters
Item Details
Part Model: CAT 095-0943 (0950943) Snap Ring (Shaft C-Type Retaining Ring)
Type: Elastic retaining ring, single-ring opening, installed in the shaft groove, fixed by elastic tension, bearing axial positioning load
Material: 65Mn spring steel, quenched + tempered, hardness HRC42-48, surface galvanized/passivated, corrosion resistant
Key Dimensions: Applicable shaft diameter approx. 120mm, free diameter approx. 118mm, thickness approx. 2.5mm, width approx. 3.0mm, opening gap approx. 5mm, weight approx. 0.18kg
Compatible Machines: CAT 349, 352, 374 excavators, 982, 988 loaders, hydraulic pumps and swing motors compatible with C13/C15 engines
Matching Relationships Matching the main bearing assembly (094-9131/094-9132/094-9133) and retainer (094-8831/094-8835), it is installed in the spindle slot to fix the inner/outer ring of the bearing and suppress axial movement.
Compatibility and Applications
Compatible Parts: Hydraulic pump spindle slots, rotary motor output shaft retaining ring slots. Installed on the inner/outer side of the bearing, it limits the axial displacement of the bearing, gears, and seals, and works with the retainer to ensure component positioning accuracy.
Application Scenarios: Heavy-load, high-frequency vibration conditions such as mining and earthmoving, preventing component loosening, protecting bearings and seals, and extending the life of the power system.
Core Functions: Axial positioning and anti-movement, compact structure, convenient installation/disassembly, adaptable to positioning requirements under dynamic working conditions.
Installation and Maintenance Points
Installation: Clean the shaft groove and retaining ring. Use retaining ring pliers to open the opening, insert the retaining ring into the shaft groove, and then release it. Ensure the retaining ring is fully engaged in the groove without any looseness. Check that the axial clearance is ≤0.1mm to prevent it from falling off during operation.
Maintenance: Check the retaining ring for deformation, cracks, and corrosion every 200 hours. Replace it immediately if any abnormalities are found. Avoid striking it with hard objects to prevent loss of elasticity.
Replacement: Use original parts first. Verify the shaft diameter and groove width. After installation, test for axial movement and abnormal noise to ensure reliable positioning.
