CAT 095-2045 is a Caterpillar bearing retainer (bearing retainer/cage), compatible with the gearboxes and drive axle main reducers of heavy-duty equipment such as 349/352/374 excavators and 982/988 loaders. It is used for axial positioning of cylindrical roller bearings (such as 095-1014/095-1020) to prevent axial movement of the inner/outer ring of the bearing, ensuring stable operation of the transmission system (Cat® Parts).
Core Parameters
Item Details
Part Model: CAT 095-2045 (0952045) Bearing Retainer (Bearing Retainer/Cage)
Type: Split/Integral Bearing Axial Retainer, compatible with single-row cylindrical roller bearings, used to limit bearing axial displacement, suitable for heavy-duty applications
Material: S45C carbon steel, quenched and tempered, hardness HRC35-40; galvanized/blackened surface, corrosion resistant, suitable for gearbox/drive axle oil environments
Key Dimensions: Inner diameter approx. 140-150mm, outer diameter approx. 190-200mm, thickness approx. 8-10mm, single weight approx. 0.8-1.2kg, compatible with 095-1014/095-1020 bearing outer diameters, etc.
Compatible Machines: CAT 349, 352, 374 excavators, 982, 988 loaders, compatible with C13/C15 Engine transmission and drive axle main reducer
Matching relationship: Compatible with 095-1014/095-1020 roller bearings, bearing housings, and lock nuts. Installed on the bearing’s axial positioning surface, it bears axial positioning force and prevents bearing movement.
Adaptation and application:
Suitable parts: Transmission output shaft, drive axle differential support. Installed on the axial end face of the bearing’s inner/outer ring, fixed by bolts/interference fit, limiting bearing axial displacement and ensuring shaft positioning accuracy (Cat® Parts).
Application scenarios: Heavy-duty operations such as mining and infrastructure construction. Adapts to the axial positioning of transmission system bearings, preventing bearing displacement due to vibration/impact, protecting the shaft system and housing, and extending component life (Cat® Parts).
Core function: Axially positions the bearing, suppresses movement, ensures stable bearing clearance, reduces transmission noise and vibration, suitable for low-speed to medium-speed heavy-duty conditions.
Installation and Maintenance Points
Installation: Clean the contact surfaces of the retainer and bearing housing, ensure they are flush with the bearing end face, and tighten with bolts (torque as per the model manual). Ensure there are no gaps or looseness, and use the locknuts to prevent loosening with Cat® Parts.
Maintenance: Check the retainer’s tightness every 250 hours. If deformation, cracks, or looseness are found, replace it immediately. Change the gear oil regularly to prevent oil contamination that could corrode the retainer.
Replacement: Prioritize original parts. Verify the model and dimensions. After installation, test the transmission system for abnormal noise and temperature rise to ensure reliable bearing positioning.
