CAT 095-9665 (0959665) is a track tension cylinder spring retainer for the 760GT tracked chassis. It features a ring-shaped inner elastic claw and an outer positioning edge structure, compatible with models such as 349/352/374/395 excavators and 982/988 loaders. Installed between the 095-9643 retainer and the 095-9543 end cap, it works in conjunction with the 095-7947 retainer and the 095-9543 end cap to lock the tension spring, limiting axial and radial movement. Suitable for heavy-duty, high-frequency vibration conditions in mining and infrastructure applications, it protects the 095-8931 bearing, the 095-9380 spring seat, and the Cat® Parts inner wall of the cylinder.

Core Parameter Table

Item Details
Part Model CAT 095-9665 (0959665) Spring Retainer (760GT Track Tensioning Cylinder Dedicated)

Structure Type Annular inner ring with 3 evenly distributed elastic claws, outer ring with positioning edge, compatible with 095-9643 retainer outer ring and 095-9543 end cap inner hole step, claws embedded in the spring inner ring

Material 65Mn spring steel, stamped + surface oxidation treatment, tensile strength ≥1030MPa, elastic modulus 206GPa, suitable for -40℃ to 150℃ working conditions, vibration and deformation resistant

Key Dimensions Inner diameter approx. 85-90mm, outer diameter approx. 105-110mm, positioning edge width approx. 5-6mm, claw thickness approx. 3-4mm, length approx. 8-10mm, compatible with 095-9643 The clearance between the retainer and the inner hole is ≤0.5mm, suitable for the inner hole of the 095-9543 end cap.

Compatible models: CAT 349, 352, 374, 395 excavators; 982, 988 loaders (760GT tracked chassis configuration).

Functional positioning: Axial locking tension spring, limiting radial offset, forming a double positioning with the 095-9643 retainer. It works with the end cap and retainer ring to lock the spring preload, preventing spring loosening and protecting the bearing and cylinder inner wall.

Adaptation and application:
Installation position: Inside the track tensioning cylinder, nested on the outside of the 095-9643 retainer. The claws embed into the inner ring of the spring, and the positioning edge fits against the step of the inner hole of the 095-9543 end cap. It is locked to the center hole of the end cap by the 095-7947 retainer ring, working in conjunction with the 095-9643 retainer to position the spring, forming double protection.

Application Scenarios: Suitable for heavy-duty operations such as mining stripping, rock crushing, and tunnel excavation. It withstands the impact of spring extension and contraction and radial loads, preventing spring displacement that could cause scratches on the cylinder inner wall and damage to bearings. Suitable for high-intensity working environments.

Core Functions: Axial locking and radial anti-offset, forming a dual positioning system with the 095-9643 retainer, enhancing the spring’s fixing effect, reducing the risk of tension system failure, and ensuring stable track tension.

Installation and Maintenance Points:

Installation: Clean the outer ring of the 095-9643 retainer and the inner hole of the 095-9543 end cap. Position the 095-9665 retainer with the positioning edge facing the end cap. Insert the jaws into the inner ring of the spring, ensuring a tight fit between the jaws and the spring. Then install the 095-9543 end cap and tighten the bolts. Finally, install the 095-7947 retainer. Test the extension and retraction of the tensioning cylinder, check that the retainer is not loose or makes abnormal noises, the spring extends and retracts smoothly without deviation, and the end cap shows no signs of leakage.

Maintenance Cycle: Under standard operating conditions, check the elasticity of the retainer jaws and the wear of the positioning edges every 1200 hours; for mining operating conditions, shorten this to 600 hours, and promptly replace retainers with failed elasticity or excessive wear.

Replacement Criteria: Replacement is mandatory when jaws are deformed/broken, positioning edge wear >2mm, surface oxide layer peeling leading to corrosion, or the clearance with the 095-9643 retainer/end cap is >1mm. Original parts are preferred to avoid dimensional deviations that could cause spring displacement or cylinder malfunction.
