CAT 095-9852 (0959852) is a track tensioning cylinder spring retainer adapted for the 760GT tracked chassis. It is a ring-shaped structure with internal threads and a locating flange, compatible with models such as 349/352/374/395 excavators and 982/988 loaders. It is installed between the 095-9732 main compression spring and the 095-9850 bearing cap, locking the spring preload, transmitting the tension load, preventing spring loosening, and ensuring the stability of the track tensioning system.

Item Details
Part Model CAT 095-9852 (0959852) Track Tensioner Cylinder Spring Retainer (760GT Track Chassis Dedicated)

Structure Type Annular with internal thread + positioning flange, compatible with 095-9732 main compression spring and 095-9850 bearing cap, locking spring preload

Material 42CrMo alloy steel, forged + tempered + surface nitrided, tensile strength ≥1080MPa, yield strength ≥930MPa, suitable for -40℃ to 150℃ operating conditions

Key Dimensions Inner diameter approx. 120mm, outer diameter approx. 180mm, thickness approx. 30mm, positioning flange width approx. 20mm, internal thread M120×2, clearance with 095-9732 spring ≤0.5mm, clearance with 095-9850 Bearing cap fit clearance ≤ 0.3mm
Compatible Models: CAT 349, 352, 374, 395 excavators; 982, 988 loaders (760GT tracked chassis configuration)
Functional Positioning: Locks the preload of the 095-9732 main compression spring, transmits tension load, prevents spring loosening, and works with the 095-9772 spring seat / 095-9760 base to form a load closed loop.
Adaptation and Application:
Installation Position: Inside the track tensioning cylinder cylinder, between the 095-9732 main compression spring and the 095-9850 bearing cap. It is fixed to the cylinder piston rod via internal threads. The positioning flange fits against the bearing cap, locking the spring preload and transmitting tension force to the spring and base, ensuring system stability.

Application Scenarios: Suitable for heavy-duty, high-frequency impact conditions such as mining stripping, rock crushing, and tunnel excavation. It withstands alternating spring loads and vibrations, preventing spring loosening and tension failure, and is suitable for high-intensity working environments.

Core Functions: Locks spring preload, transmits axial loads, prevents spring loosening and radial displacement, ensures stable track tension, and extends the service life of the spring and cylinder.

Installation and Maintenance Points

Installation: Clean the threads of the retainer, the locating flange, and the surface of the 095-9850 bearing cap. Apply threadlocker (Cat 5P-3931). Screw the retainer’s internal thread into the piston rod, ensuring the locating flange fits against the bearing cap. Control the torque at 350-400 N·m to ensure proper preload without loosening.

Install the 095-9732 spring, 095-9772 spring seat, and 095-9760 spring base in sequence. Test the tensioning cylinder for smooth extension and retraction without jamming, abnormal noise, or leakage.

Maintenance Cycle: Under standard operating conditions, check the fastener thread tightness, surface cracks, and locating flange wear every 2000 hours; under mining operating conditions, shorten this to 1000 hours, recording the fit clearance and deformation.

Replacement Criteria: Replacement is mandatory when thread damage, surface cracks, locating flange wear >1mm, or fit clearance with the spring/bearing cap >1mm. Original parts are preferred to avoid spring locking failure or tensioning malfunctions caused by material/dimensional deviations of non-original parts.
