096-0232 are multi-tooth (three-tooth/standard-tooth) alloy steel track shoes specifically designed for the Caterpillar 760GT heavy-duty tracked chassis. They are used on 349, 352, 374, and 395 excavators and 982 and 988 large loaders. Installed on the outside of the track links, they bear the weight of the machine, provide ground traction, and protect the track links and track rollers. They are suitable for heavy-duty abrasive working conditions such as mining, rock, and tunneling. Working in conjunction with the 095 series track tensioning system (095-9936 spring, 095-9962 spring seat, 095-9882 retainer), they form a complete tracked running system.

Item Details
Part Model CAT 096-0232 (0960232) Heavy-Duty Track Plate (760GT Track Chassis)

Structure Type Integral Forged Alloy Steel Track Plate, Three-Tooth Grip Teeth, with Link Bolt Holes, Wear-Resistant Weld Overlay, Rounded Ends to Prevent Stress Concentration

Material ZGMn13 High Manganese Wear-Resistant Steel + Alloy Structural Steel Composite Forging, Quenching + Low-Temperature Tempering + Surface Shot Peening + Anti-Corrosion Coating; Brinell Hardness HB≥380, Tensile Strength≥1200MPa, Impact Toughness≥80J/cm², Wear Life More Than 3 Times That of Ordinary Carbon Steel

Key Dimensions (Original Manufacturer Nominal): Plate Width Approx. 610mm, Plate Thickness Approx. 55mm, Pitch Adapted to 760GT Standard Pitch; Grip Teeth Height Approx. 45mm, Tooth Spacing Approx. 180mm; Bolt Specifications M30×2, double-bolt fastening, precise hole spacing.

Compatible Models: CAT 349, 352, 374, 395 hydraulic excavators; 982, 988 wheel loaders (760GT tracked chassis configuration).

Functional Positioning: Bears the weight of the entire machine, transmits driving force, provides strong traction and anti-slip properties, protects track links, track rollers, and idlers, and absorbs impact during travel.

Suitable Application Scenarios:
Installation Location: On the outside of the track link, fastened to the link with two M30 high-strength bolts. Leave a 2-3mm thermal expansion gap between adjacent track plates; replace in pairs; do not mix single plates from different batches or non-original parts.

Working Conditions: Primarily suitable for heavy-duty, high-abrasion environments such as mining stripping, quarries, and hard rock tunnels; strictly prohibited for use on extremely soft surfaces such as swamps and mud (wide/wet flooring is recommended).

Matching Components: Must be compatible with original factory chain links, bolts (CAT 106-3960 grease), track pins, and track pad gaskets; the tensioning system requires simultaneous checking of the 095-9936 spring and 095-9962 spring seat condition.

Installation and Maintenance Points

Installation: Clean the track pad bolt holes and chain link contact surfaces, removing rust and oil; apply Cat 106-3960 grease to prevent jamming; tighten the M30 bolts in a symmetrical, cross-tightening sequence, with torque controlled at 1200-1300 N·m according to the original factory standard, and retighten once after 24 hours.

After installation, check the track sag (standard is 3%-5% of the track roller spacing), and test for no deviation, abnormal noise, or loose bolts.

Maintenance cycle: Under standard operating conditions, check tooth height wear and bolt torque every 1000 hours; for mining/rock conditions, shorten to 500 hours; record tooth height, plate thickness, and clearance data.

Replacement criteria: When gripping tooth wear > 50% (remaining tooth height < 22mm), through cracks appear on the plate, bolt holes are deformed and stripped, or plate thickness is reduced by > 10%, the plates must be replaced in pairs; welding repairs and continued use are strictly prohibited.
