Part Model: CAT 096-2170 (0962170) Heavy-Duty Reinforced Track Plate (Specifically for 760GT Track Chassis)
Structure Type: Integral boron steel track plate with 760 standard traction teeth, double bolt holes + locating stop, reinforced plate body, edge-hardened wear-resistant layer
Material: Imported boron alloy steel (B410Nb), integral quenching + medium-temperature tempering; surface: Caterpillar yellow epoxy primer + Dacromet composite coating; hardness: HRC50–54, wear-resistant layer depth ≥6mm, bending strength ≥1400MPa, temperature resistance: -40℃ to 120℃
Key Dimensions (Nominal): Width 760mm, pitch 216mm, plate thickness 50mm; traction tooth height 38mm, tooth pitch 108mm; bolt specification: M30×2, hole spacing 180mm, locating stop depth 3mm, with a clearance of ≤0.2mm between the track link and the track link. Compatible with CAT 349, 352, 374, and 395 hydraulic excavators; 982 and 988 large loaders (must be configured with a 760GT tracked chassis, and must be fully compatible with the 096-0676 bushing, 096-1175 spacer ring, and 096 series track retainer). Single piece weight: Approximately 82 kg (replace in pairs; it is recommended to purchase and install the entire batch of tracks on each side). Compatibility and Application Scenarios: Installation Location: On the outside of the track link, secured with two M30 high-strength track bolts and lock nuts. The positioning stop should be embedded in the groove of the track link. Incorrect or missing stop gaskets are strictly prohibited. It forms a complete walking system protection system with the 096-1823/096-1861 track retainer.
Operating conditions: Specifically designed for hard rock stripping in mines, quarry transport, and large-scale infrastructure blasting areas; compared to standard track shoes, wear life is increased by 40%+; when used with Cat GLT long-life grease, it can significantly reduce abrasive wear on track pins/bushings.
Installation list: Must be matched with 096-0232 track shoe bolts, 096-1555/096-1558/096-1823/096-1861 retainers, 096-0676 bushings, and 096-1188 bearing caps; when replacing track shoes, the ovality of track pins, the deformation of chain links, and the tensioning cylinder seals must be checked simultaneously.
Installation and Maintenance Points
Installation: Clean the mating surfaces of the chain links and track shoes, removing rust, sand, and old coatings; tighten the tracks in 2-3 alternating stages using a torque wrench as specified by the manufacturer (recommended final torque 1800 N·m); after installation, check the track sag (3%-5% of the track roller spacing) and perform a walking test to ensure there is no jamming or abnormal noise.
Maintenance Cycle: Under standard operating conditions, check bolt torque, track shoe cracks, and tooth wear every 1000 hours; for mining conditions, shorten this to 400 hours; record the tooth tip wear; when the wear exceeds 50% of the original tooth height, the track shoe must be replaced.
Replacement Standards: Track shoes with penetrating cracks, edge chipping, grip tooth height less than 19mm, deformed/stripped bolt holes, or gaps between the track links and chain links >0.5mm are strictly prohibited from repair; replace the entire track shoe in pairs.
