CAT 064-3915 is a Caterpillar genuine compression spring (purely genuine and accurate information, no additional description), adapted for the C7/C9 engine hydraulic pump drive end bearing mounting assembly. It is used in conjunction with the 064-3839 retainer and the 064-1489 bearing to provide axial preload, absorb vibration and shock, and ensure bearing positioning and transmission stability (Cat®…).
Core Parameters and Information
Project Details
Part Model: CAT 064-3915 (0643915) Compression Spring (Cylindrical Helical Compression Spring, Galvanized and Passivated for Rust Prevention)
Type: Standard cylindrical helical compression spring, used for bearing retainer preload, providing stable axial force and inhibiting vibration and loosening.
Material: Body: 50CrVA alloy spring steel (quenched and tempered HRC45-50, fatigue life ≥10⁶ cycles), galvanized and passivated for rust prevention, weight 0.12 kg
Key Dimensions: Wire diameter 3.5 mm, inner diameter 22 mm, outer diameter 30 mm, free length 45 mm, working stroke 10 mm, ultimate compression 12 mm
Mechanical Parameters: Stiffness coefficient 8.5 N/mm, preload 3 mm (preload force 25.5 N), working load range 25-85 N, ultimate load 120 N
Working Principle Installed between the retainer and the bearing housing, it provides continuous axial preload, absorbs vibration and shock, compensates for thermal expansion and contraction, and maintains the bearing axial clearance ≤0.05 mm. Compatible Models and Assemblies
Compatible Parts: 064-3839 Retainer, 064-1489 Bearing, 064-0974 Oil Retainer Ring, 064-2311 Washer
Compatible Equipment: CAT 320D2/323D2/329D2 Excavators, 950K/966K Loaders, D6T/D7E Bulldozers (C7/C9 Engines), used for the hydraulic pump drive end bearing fixing assembly.
Matching Parts: 064-3915 Spring, 064-3839 Retainer, 064-1489 Bearing, 064-2311 Washer, M8×16 Socket Head Screws
Installation and Maintenance Points: Clean the contact surfaces of the spring, retainer, and bearing housing; ensure they are free of oil contaminants. / Rust/Inspect the spring for deformation, cracks, and broken wires; free length deviation ≤ 0.5 mm.
Installation sequence: Bearing → Spring → Retainer → Washer → Screw. Pre-compress the spring by 3 mm. Tighten the screws diagonally and evenly (torque 12-15 N·m). The spring should not be skewed or jammed.
Inspection: Spring compression meets requirements; retainer has no axial looseness; bearing rotates freely without jamming; axial movement ≤ 0.05 mm.
Maintenance: Check the spring’s free length and preload every 2000 hours. Replace the spring if deformation/fatigue/rust occurs to prevent preload failure from damaging the bearing.
