CAT 077-3655 is a genuine Caterpillar retaining ring (purely original and accurate information, no additional description), compatible with the high-pressure fuel pump rotor assembly of C13/C15/C18 engines. It is used for axial positioning and anti-loosening of the 077-3600 bearing, preventing axial movement of the bearing during high-speed rotor rotation, ensuring the fuel pump’s operational accuracy and stability (Cat®…).
Core Parameters and Information
Item Details
Part Model: CAT 077-3655 (0773655) Ring-Ring (Cat®) …
Structure Type: Shaft-mounted elastic retaining ring (external clamping type), annular with opening, with double mounting clamp holes, used for axial positioning of bearings.
Material: 65Mn spring steel, blackened surface oxide, hardness HRC48-52, tensile strength ≥1300 MPa
Key Dimensions: Inner diameter 45 mm, outer diameter 52 mm, thickness 2 mm, opening width 6 mm, clamp hole diameter 3 mm, fitting shaft groove width 2.2 mm
Performance Parameters: Operating temperature -40℃ to 180℃, elastic recovery rate ≥95%, shear strength ≥850 MPa, anti-loosening axial force ≥8 kN
Compatibility Standard: Complies with CAT retaining ring technical specifications, dimensional accuracy IT9 grade, surface roughness Ra≤1.6 μm Compatible Models and Assemblies
Compatible Parts: 077-3600 Bearing, 077-3553 Bearing Retaining Ring, High-Pressure Fuel Pump Rotor Assembly
Compatible Equipment: CAT 336D2L/349D2L Excavators, 980M/982M Loaders, D8T/D9R Bulldozers (C13/C15/C18 Engines), used for axial positioning of the 077-3600 bearing on the high-pressure fuel pump rotor shaft
Installation: 1 piece per fuel pump, installed in the rotor shaft groove, located inside the 077-3600 bearing, cooperating with the 077-3553 bearing retaining ring to achieve bidirectional axial positioning of the bearing.
Installation and Maintenance Points: Clean the shaft groove and retaining ring, check the retaining ring for deformation, cracks, gaps, normal elasticity, and intact clamp holes.
Use a shaft retainer pliers to pry open the retaining ring and insert it into the rotor shaft groove, ensuring it is fully engaged at the bottom of the groove and fits snugly against the bearing end face without any gaps.
After installation, check that the axial runout of the bearing is ≤0.03 mm, and that the rotor rotates freely without jamming or abnormal noise.
Maintenance: Check the retaining ring’s elasticity and installation condition every 2000 hours. Replace it immediately if deformation, decreased elasticity, or breakage occurs to prevent bearing displacement and subsequent rotor eccentric wear.
