CAT 077-5061 is a Caterpillar original retainer (pure original factory information, no additional description), a shaft retaining ring (circlip), adapted for bearings/shafts with retaining grooves, used for axial positioning and preventing movement, suitable for rotating parts of CAT engineering machinery, ensuring assembly stability and transmission accuracy.
Core Parameters and Information
Item Details
Part Model: CAT 077-5061 (0775061) Snap Ring (External)
Structure Type: Shaft-mounted elastic retaining ring, notched and open type, quenched and tempered for elasticity treatment, deburred edges
Material: 65Mn spring steel, surface anodized black / galvanized passivation for corrosion protection, elastic modulus 206 GPa
Key Dimensions: Fitting shaft diameter 90 mm, inner diameter 88 mm, outer diameter 98 mm, thickness 2 mm, opening width 5 mm, radial elastic deformation ≤1.2 mm
Performance Parameters: Operating temperature -40℃ to 150℃, radial tension ≥12 kN, shear strength ≥800 MPa, suitable speed ≤6000 r/min
Compatibility Standard: Complies with CAT shaft fixing specifications, dimensional tolerance GB/T 894.1 – 8 grade, elasticity conforms to GB/T 1239.2 standard
Installation Method Compatible with standard snap ring clamps, installed in the retaining groove of the shaft, groove width 2.2 mm, groove depth 0.8 mm.
Compatible Machine Models and Assemblies
Compatible Parts: Matches CAT 077-4855 bearings and 077-4988 oil slingers, used for shaft systems such as gearbox output shafts, hydraulic pump input shafts, and travel wheel shafts, for axial positioning of bearings/gears/sprockets.
Compatible Equipment: CAT 336D2/349D2 excavators, 988K loaders, D8T bulldozers, etc., compatible with shaft systems with retaining grooves to prevent axial movement of rotating parts.
Installation: 1 piece per shaft, installed in the retaining groove of the shaft, fitting snugly against the outer ring end face of the bearing. No additional fasteners required. Axial clearance ≤0.05 mm after installation.
Installation and Maintenance Points: Clean the retaining groove of the shaft, check that the groove width/depth meets the standard, and that there are no burrs, rust, or deformation. The retainer should be free of cracks and elastic failure. Use external snap ring pliers to pry the retainer open until its outer diameter is slightly larger than the shaft diameter. Align it with the stop groove and release, ensuring it is fully embedded in the groove and fits snugly against the bottom.
After installation, check that the retainer is not loose or warped, that it makes uniform contact with the bearing end face, that there is no axial movement when pulled, and that there is no interference or abnormal noise when rotated.
Maintenance: Check the elasticity and corrosion condition every 2000 hours. Replace the retainer if deformation, breakage, or corrosion layer thickness exceeds 0.1 mm to prevent positioning failure.
