CAT 077-7722 is a Caterpillar genuine shaft bearing retainer ring (pure original factory information, no additional description). It is used to position the inner ring of the bearing and limit axial movement. It is suitable for the transmission/hydraulic system shafts of heavy-duty construction machinery and is often used in conjunction with bearings and bushings.
Core Parameters and Information
Item Details
Part Model: CAT 077-7722 (0777722) Bearing Circlip
Structure Type: Open-type shaft retaining ring with mounting groove, surface anodized black for corrosion protection
Material: 65Mn spring steel, quenching hardness HRC 42-48, salt spray test ≥48 h, thickness tolerance ±0.02 mm
Key Dimensions: Inner diameter 180 mm, outer diameter 198 mm, thickness 3 mm, opening width 8 mm, mounting groove diameter 185 mm, groove width 3.2 mm, chamfer 1×45°
Performance Parameters: Axial load ≥28 kN, radial runout ≤0.05 mm, flatness ≤0.03 mm, axial movement after assembly ≤0.05 mm
Compatibility Standard: Complies with CAT retaining ring specifications, dimensional tolerance GB/T 894.1 – 7 grade, surface roughness Ra≤1.6 μm
Matching Relationship: Embedded in the mounting groove on the shaft, fitting snugly against the bearing inner ring end face, secured by elasticity, no bolts required.
Compatible Models and Applications:
Compatible Parts: Matched with tapered roller bearings and bushings, used for gearbox output shafts, drive axle differential shafts, hydraulic pump drive shafts, etc., positioning the bearing inner ring and limiting axial displacement.
Compatible Equipment: CAT 320/323/330 series excavators, 972/980 series loaders, D6/D7 series bulldozers, and other construction machinery.
Installation: One piece per bearing, embedded in the shaft groove and fitting snugly against the bearing inner ring, elastically secured, no bolts required.
Installation and Maintenance Points:
Clean the retaining ring and shaft groove, checking for deformation, cracks, and corrosion. Measure the inner diameter, thickness, and shaft groove dimensions to ensure tolerance matching.
Use special snap ring pliers to open the opening, embed it in the mounting groove on the shaft, release it, and it will automatically spring back and lock in place. Check for a tight fit with the bearing inner ring.
After installation, the bearing should rotate freely without jamming, with axial runout ≤0.05 mm and radial runout ≤0.08 mm, and no abnormal noise.
Maintenance: Check elasticity and wear every 1000 hours. Replace if deformation, corrosion, or wear >0.1 mm is observed. Use special tools for disassembly; do not pry forcefully to avoid breakage.
