CAT 077-8625 is a Caterpillar genuine shaft elastic bearing retainer ring (pure original factory information, no additional description), used for axial positioning and anti-migration of bearings, suitable for small to medium-sized shaft systems. It achieves quick installation by elastically embedding into the shaft groove, suitable for low to medium speed and low to medium axial force conditions for Cat®…
Core Parameters and Information
Item Details
Part Model: CAT 077-8625 (0778625) Shaft Snap Ring/Retaining Ring
Structure Type: Shaft-mounted open elastic retaining ring, earless, radially elastic, recessed mounting
Material: 65Mn spring steel, galvanized and passivated surface, conforming to ASTM A684 standard
Key Dimensions: Free inner diameter 38 mm, thickness 1.5 mm, groove width 1.6 mm, groove diameter 39.2 mm, unfolded diameter 45 mm
Performance Parameters: Radial elasticity ≥150 N, breaking strength ≥1200 MPa, temperature resistance -40℃ to +150℃, salt spray test ≥96 h
Compatibility Standard: Conforms to SAE J120 standard, compatible with ISO 7089 shaft retaining ring groove specification
Matching Relationship Pre-set grooves are embedded in the shaft for axial positioning of bearings, gears, bushings, etc. Multiple pieces can be used on a single shaft.
Compatible Models and Application Scenarios
Compatible Equipment: CAT 307/308 mini excavators, 226B/236B skid steer loaders, 420/430 mini loaders, 3054/3056 engines, etc.
Application Scenarios: Hydraulic pump bearings, travel motor shaft ends, gearbox gear positioning, steering cylinder piston limits, etc., especially suitable for shaft systems with limited space and inconvenient bolt fixing.
Installation: One piece is provided at each positioning location. It is installed in the shaft groove, fitting snugly against the bearing inner ring. No additional fasteners are needed. After installation, the axial clearance is ≤0.1 mm.
Installation and Maintenance Points: Clean the shaft groove and retaining ring. Check the retaining ring for deformation and cracks. Ensure the groove width matches the retaining ring thickness (tolerance +0.05/-0.02 mm). Use retaining ring pliers to pry open the retaining ring, insert it into the shaft groove, and release the pliers to ensure the retaining ring is fully engaged in the groove without any looseness.
Post-installation inspection: The retaining ring and shaft groove should fit tightly, with no axial movement, no interference between rotating parts, and no misalignment of the retaining ring opening.
Maintenance: Check the retaining ring’s elasticity and surface corrosion every 1000 hours; replace the retaining ring if it is deformed, broken, or corroded to prevent bearing displacement and equipment failure.
