CAT 077-9360 is a genuine Caterpillar rotor retainer (pure original factory information, no additional description). It is used to lock the rotor shaft end of a generator/starter motor to prevent axial movement. It is suitable for small to medium-sized excavators, skid steer loaders, and 3044/3054 engines, and can be used with the 077-8727 bearing, 077-8807 drive plate, and 077-8864/077-9259 retainer.
Core Parameters and Information
Item Details
Part Model: CAT 077-9360 (0779360) Rotor Retainer
Structure Type: Annular disc with positioning step, central shaft hole + 3 circumferentially distributed mounting holes, adapts to rotor shaft end flange positioning, compatible with bolt fastening
Material: 42CrMo alloy steel, blackened + oxidized surface, conforms to CAT MES J4203 rotor retainer specification
Key Dimensions: Outer diameter 80 mm, inner diameter 25 mm, thickness 10 mm, positioning step height 4 mm, mounting hole diameter 6 mm, hole spacing circle diameter 60 mm, adapts to M6 bolts
Performance Parameters: Rated axial locking force 5 kN, operating temperature -40℃ to +180℃, radial runout ≤0.05 mm, hardness HRC35-40
Compatibility Standard: Complies with SAE J1926 rotor connection standard, central shaft hole adapts to 077-8727 The bearing inner ring mounting holes are compatible with the 077-8807 drive plate bolt hole positions.
Compatibility: Suitable for CAT 306/307 excavators, 226B skid steer loaders, 3044/3054 engines, etc., and can be used with 077-8717 retaining rings and 077-9259 retainers.
Compatible Models and Applications:
Compatible Equipment: CAT 306/307/308 mini excavators, 226B/236B skid steer loaders, 3044/3054/3056 engines, generator rotors, starter motor rotors, etc.
Applications: Anti-motor shifting of generator rotor shafts, starter motor rotor positioning, hydraulic pump drive rotor fixation, suppressing rotor displacement caused by vibration, and ensuring stable electrical transmission and power output.
Matching Installation: Secure to the rotor shaft end flange with M6 bolts. Compatible with 077-8727 bearing, 077-8807 drive plate, and 077-9259 retainer. Axial clearance after installation should be ≤0.1 mm.
Installation and Maintenance Points: Clean the rotor shaft end, retainer, and bolts. Check for deformation and cracks. Ensure the shaft end diameter matches the center hole and the mounting holes are undamaged.
The retainer positioning step should fit against the rotor flange surface, aligning with the mounting holes. Tighten the M6 bolts crosswise to a torque of 12-15 N·m.
Post-Installation Inspection: Ensure there is no looseness or wobble. Rotor rotation should be smooth without interference and axial movement should be normal. Multimeter readings of rotor resistance should show no abnormalities.
Maintenance: Check bolt torque and retainer wear every 800 hours. Replace immediately if deformed or with damaged threads to prevent rotor imbalance and malfunctions.
