CAT 093-8037 is a Caterpillar original equipment track tensioner spring base (also known as a tension cylinder spring seat/rear support), adapted for the track tensioning system of mini excavators/bulldozers. It positions and supports the tension spring, absorbs walking shocks, and protects the tension cylinder and track links. Like the 093 series track shoes, it belongs to the chassis wear parts system and is installed at the rear of the track tensioner. It is used in conjunction with Cat® Parts components such as the tension spring, cylinder, and guide sleeve.

Item Details
Part Model: CAT 093-8037 (0938037) Spring Base (for track tensioning system)
Material and Process: Low carbon alloy steel plate stamping + overall heat treatment, surface CAT yellow primer + anti-corrosion coating, salt spray ≥480h; mounting surface precision machined, flatness ≤0.15mm
Structural Specifications: Integral welded structure, including positioning stop, 2 sets of bolt holes (compatible with 1/2″-20 UNF), center positioning hole φ85mm, compatible spring outer diameter φ80–82mm; asymmetrical design, distinguishing left and right mounting positions
Unit Weight: Approx. 12.8 kg (28.2 lbs)
Rated Operating Conditions: Withstands spring preload ≤120 kN, impact load ≤180 kN; check for cracks/deformation/bolt torque every 500 hours
Compatible Models: Compatible with CAT This product is suitable for small excavators such as the 307 and 312, bulldozers of the D4/D5 series, and small tracked equipment such as the 600GT/500GT. Final verification is based on both the chassis serial number and the tension cylinder model.
Installation Parameters: Bolt specifications 1/2″-20 UNF, installation torque 380–420 N・m, tightened in two crisscrossing stages; compatible with tension springs (recommended 541-8035) and tension cylinders (239-4390).
Compatibility and Application Points:
Functional Positioning: Serves as support and positioning reference for the track tension spring, buffers impact loads during travel, maintains constant track tension, and extends the service life of track links, carrier rollers, and idlers.
Compatibility Specifications: Must be replaced as a complete set with original factory tension springs and seals (such as O-rings 1R-0750); clean the mounting surface and threads before installation to remove rust and oil; welding repairs of cracked bases are strictly prohibited.
Replacement Criteria: Replace the base immediately if it shows cracks, deformation >1.5mm, stripped bolt holes, or wear >0.5mm on the locating stop, to prevent track derailment due to tension system failure.
Installation and Maintenance Procedure: Stop the machine on a level, hard surface, prop up the machine body, release track tension, and remove the old spring base.
Clean the tension cylinder mounting surface and the bolt holes of the new base, and check the condition of the sealing groove and O-ring.
Tighten the bolts twice with a torque wrench (initially 70% torque, final 100%), install the tension spring and pre-tighten to the specified stroke.
Restore track tension, drive unloaded for 10 minutes, then recheck the torque and record the initial pre-tightening stroke.
Maintenance Cycle: 500 hours under standard operating conditions; 300 hours under high dust/high impact conditions, checking for base cracks, deformation, and bolt torque.
