CAT 095-2413 is a Caterpillar axle bearing retaining ring (elastic external retaining ring), suitable for the gearboxes and drive axle main reducers of heavy-duty equipment such as 349/352/374 excavators and 982/988 loaders. It is used for axial positioning of cylindrical roller bearings (such as 095-1014/095-1020) to suppress axial movement of the bearing and ensure the positioning accuracy and operational stability of the transmission system shaft.
Core Parameters
Item Details
Part Model: CAT 095-2413 (0952413) Bearing Retaining Ring (Shaft Elastic External Snapping Ring)
Type: Shaft elastic retaining ring (external snapping ring), suitable for single-row cylindrical roller bearings, withstands axial positioning force, suitable for heavy-duty impact conditions, limits bearing axial displacement
Material: 65Mn manganese steel, quenched + tempered, hardness HRC42-48, excellent elasticity and fatigue resistance; surface anodized/galvanized, prevents corrosion from gearbox/drive axle oil
Key Dimensions: Inner diameter approx. 170mm, shaft groove diameter approx. 170mm, outer diameter approx. 205mm, thickness approx. 4mm, single weight approx. 0.5kg, suitable for 095-1014/095-1020 and other bearing inner ring positioning surfaces
Compatible Models: CAT 349, 352, 374 excavators, 982, 988 loaders C13/C15 engine gearbox and drive axle main reducer
Matching Relationship: Compatible with 095-1014/095-1020 roller bearings, shaft grooves, and bearing housings. Installed in the shaft grooves to prevent bearing movement and ensure stable bearing clearance.
Applications:
Matching Locations: Gearbox output shaft, drive axle differential support shaft, shaft grooves. It elastically deforms and engages in the grooves, fitting against the bearing end face to limit axial bearing displacement and ensure shaft positioning accuracy.
Application Scenarios: Heavy-duty operations such as mining and infrastructure construction. Adapts for axial positioning of transmission system bearings, preventing bearing displacement due to vibration/impact, protecting the shaft system and housing, and extending component life.
Core Functions: Axially positions bearings, suppresses movement, ensures stable bearing clearance, reduces transmission noise and vibration, suitable for low-speed to medium-speed heavy-duty conditions.
Installation and Maintenance Points
Installation: Clean the shaft groove and retaining ring. Use retaining ring pliers to pry open the retaining ring and insert it into the groove on the shaft, ensuring it is fully embedded and fits snugly against the bearing end face without gaps or looseness.
Maintenance: Check the retaining ring’s elasticity and installation condition every 250 hours. Replace it immediately if it is deformed, broken, or loose. Change the gear oil regularly to prevent oil contamination that could lead to retaining ring corrosion.
Replacement: Prioritize genuine parts. Verify the model and dimensions. After installation, test the transmission system for any abnormal noises or temperature rise to ensure reliable bearing positioning (Cat® Parts).
