CAT 095-5581 (0955581) is the track recoil spring seat for the Caterpillar 400GT tracked chassis. It is compatible with heavy-duty equipment such as 349/352/374/395 excavators and 982/988 loaders. It works in conjunction with the 095-5341/095-5342 retainer, 095-5456 inner retainer ring, and 095-3812 track link. It supports the track tension spring, positions the inner retainer ring and retainer, and transmits tension force. It is a core load-bearing component of the track tensioning mechanism (Cat® Parts…).

Item Details
Part Model CAT 095-5581 (0955581) Track Recoil Spring Seat

Type: Track tensioning mechanism load-bearing component, with inner bore groove, flange and mounting bolt holes, compatible with 400GT track tension spring assembly, and matches with 095-5341/095-5342 retainer, 095-5456 inner retainer ring, and 095-3812 track link.

Material: 42CrMo alloy steel, integral forging + tempering heat treatment (hardness HRC32-36), surface Caterpillar yellow primer + wear-resistant coating, resistant to heavy-duty impact, fatigue, and corrosion.

Dimensions and Weight: Compatible with 400GT track tension spring, inner bore diameter approximately 120-130mm (compatible with 095-5456 inner retainer ring groove diameter), flange diameter approximately… 240-260mm diameter, thickness approximately 40-48mm, single weight approximately 18-22kg, positioning groove precisely matches the spring’s outer diameter.

Compatible Models: CAT 349, 352, 374, 395 excavators, 982, 988 loaders, and other 400GT tracked chassis equipment.

Functional Positioning: Supports the track tension spring, positions the inner retaining ring and retainer, transmits tension force to the track link, limits axial movement of the spring, and ensures stable operation of the track tensioning mechanism.

Adaptation and Application:
Applicable Parts: The core load-bearing component of the track tensioning mechanism, installed between the track link and the tension spring. The inner groove is used to install the 095-5456 inner retaining ring, and the flange face is used to fix the 095-5341/095-5342 retainer. It is connected to the track link by bolts, bearing and transmitting tension force.

Application Scenarios: Suitable for heavy-duty applications such as mining and infrastructure construction. It withstands the impact and vibration of track movement, prevents spring assembly slippage leading to tension failure, and avoids abnormal wear of chain links and track rollers caused by excessively loose or tight tracks, ensuring the stability of the track system.

Core Functions: Supports the springs, positions the inner retaining ring and the retainer, transmits tension, and works with the retainer and inner retaining ring to lock the spring assembly. It also cushions impacts, protects chassis components, and extends the life of the track system (Cat® Parts).

Installation and Maintenance Points:

Installation: Clean the connecting surfaces and tighten the bolts to the original torque of 400-450 N·m. Check the fit between the inner groove and the 095-5456 inner retaining ring, ensuring the retaining ring is fully embedded in the groove and the retainer fits snugly against the base without gaps.

Maintenance Cycle: Check for base deformation, cracks, and bolt torque every 500 hours. For harsh conditions such as mining, this period is shortened to 200 hours.

Replacement criteria: Replacement is necessary when cracks, deformation, wear of the inner groove, or inability to position the inner retaining ring/fixture. Original parts should be preferred to avoid tension failure and misalignment due to size/strength issues.
