CAT 095-7657 (0957657) is a breather pipe for the track tensioning cylinder of the 760GT tracked chassis. It is used on models such as the 395/374/352/349 excavators and 988/982 loaders. Its core function is to balance the internal pressure of the tensioning cylinder guide tube, discharge the oil-air mixture, and prevent excessive negative/positive pressure from causing seal failure. It is used in conjunction with the breather filter element, O-rings, and pipe clamps, and is a key Cat® Parts component for pressure balance and contamination prevention in the hydraulic tensioning system.

Core Parameter Table

Item Details
Part Model CAT 095-7657 (0957657) Breather Pipe (760GT Track Tensioner Cylinder Dedicated)

Material Outer layer: Abrasion-resistant nitrile rubber (NBR) + Multi-layer polyester braided reinforcement layer + Inner layer: Fluororubber (FKM) lining, with metal/plastic quick connectors at both ends, resistant to hydraulic oil, anti-aging, temperature resistant -40℃ to 120℃

Structure Type Flexible corrugated/straight pipe breather pipe, inner diameter 12-16mm, length adapted to 760GT tensioner cylinder installation space (approximately 300-400mm), with anti-slip clips/threaded interfaces at both ends

Compatible Models CAT 349, 352, 374, 395 excavators; 982, 988 loaders (760GT tracked chassis configuration)

Functional Positioning Balances the internal and external pressure of the tension cylinder guide tube, discharges oil and gas, prevents dust/moisture intrusion, protects seals, and works in conjunction with the 095-7577 retainer and 095-7124 slipper to ensure the stability of the tensioning system. Cat® Parts Compatibility and Application:

Installation Location: The connecting pipe between the breather interface at the top of the track tension cylinder guide tube and the vehicle’s breathing circuit. One end connects to the cylinder breather interface, and the other end connects to the vehicle’s main breathing line/breather filter element. Secure with pipe clamps to avoid interference with track moving parts.

Application Scenarios: Used in heavy-duty, high-frequency impact conditions such as mining and infrastructure construction. Balances pressure fluctuations generated by the reciprocating motion of the cylinder, discharges oil-gas mixtures, prevents negative pressure from drawing in air or positive pressure from damaging seals within the guide tube, and prevents external dust/moisture from entering the cylinder, protecting the cleanliness of the hydraulic oil.

Core Functions: Pressure balancing, oil and gas venting, dust and water protection, ensuring the lifespan of the tension cylinder seals and the cleanliness of the hydraulic oil, preventing track tension fluctuations, guide cylinder oil leaks, and slipper jamming caused by abnormal pressure (Cat® Parts).

Installation and Maintenance Points

Installation: Clean the cylinder breather interface, breather pipe joint, and pipe clamp mounting surfaces to remove oil, rust, and impurities.

Confirm the joint sealing surfaces are intact. Insert both ends of the breather pipe into the interface and tighten the anti-loosening clips. Secure the pipeline with pipe clamps, avoiding contact with moving parts such as track links and track rollers. Leave appropriate bending allowance to prevent tensile/compression damage.

After installation, start the machine to test the tension cylinder’s extension and retraction, checking for any twisting, leaks, or abnormal noises in the pipeline.

Maintenance Cycle: Under standard operating conditions, check pipeline aging, joint seals, and pipe clamp tightening every 1000 hours; for mining conditions, shorten to 500 hours. Replace immediately if cracks/bulges/leaks are found.

Replacement criteria: Replacement is necessary when pipelines are aged and cracked, inner layer peels off, joint seals fail, or length stretching/twisting causes interference. Original parts are preferred to avoid pressure balance failure or cylinder seal damage caused by inner diameter/material deviations.
