CAT 095-9643 (0959643) is a track tensioning cylinder spring retainer adapted for the 760GT tracked chassis. It features a ring-shaped structure with steps and an inner claw, suitable for models such as 349/352/374/395 excavators and 982/988 loaders. Installed between the 095-9380 spring seat and the 095-9543 end cap, it axially positions and tensions the spring, limiting its radial offset. Working with the 095-7947 retainer and the 095-9543 end cap, it locks the spring preload. Suitable for heavy-duty, high-frequency vibration applications in mining and infrastructure.

Compatible Models CAT 349, 352, 374, 395 Excavators; 982, 988 Loaders (760GT tracked chassis configuration)

Functional Positioning: Axially positions the tension spring, limiting its radial offset. It works with the retaining ring and end cap to lock the spring preload, preventing spring loosening and protecting the 095-8931 bearing and cylinder inner wall, maintaining the stability of the tensioning system.

Adaptation and Application:
Installation Position: Inside the track tensioning cylinder, nested outside the 095-9380 spring seat. The claws embed into the inner ring of the spring. The positioning flange fits against the step of the 095-9543 end cap inner hole. It is locked in the center hole of the end cap by the 095-7947 retaining ring, working together with the spring seat and end cap to fix the tension spring and protect the bearing and cylinder inner wall (Cat).

Application Scenarios: Suitable for heavy-duty operations such as mining stripping, rock crushing, and tunnel excavation. It withstands high-frequency extension and contraction impacts and radial loads from the springs, preventing spring displacement that could cause scratches on the cylinder inner wall and damage to bearings. Suitable for high-intensity working environments.

Core Functions: Axial positioning and radial anti-offset, locking the spring preload to prevent spring loosening. Together with the end cap and retainer, it forms a closed-loop spring fixation system, reducing the risk of tension system failure and ensuring stable track tension.

Installation and Maintenance Points:

Installation: Clean the outer ring of the 095-9380 spring seat and the inner hole of the 095-9543 end cap. Position the 095-9643 retainer positioning flange towards the end cap side. Insert the jaws into the inner ring of the spring, ensuring a tight fit between the jaws and the spring. Then install the 095-9543 end cap and tighten the bolts. Finally, install the 095-7947 retainer. Test the extension and retraction of the tensioning cylinder, check that the retainer is not loose or makes abnormal noises, the spring extends and retracts smoothly without deviation, and the end cap shows no signs of leakage.

Maintenance Cycle: Under standard operating conditions, check the elasticity of the retainer claws and the wear of the positioning flange every 1200 hours; for mining operating conditions, shorten this to 600 hours, and promptly replace retainers with failed elasticity or excessive wear.

Replacement Criteria: Replacement is mandatory when the claws are deformed/broken, the positioning flange wear is >2mm, the surface oxide layer peels off leading to corrosion, or the clearance between the retainer and the spring/end cap is >1mm. Original parts are preferred to avoid dimensional deviations that could cause spring displacement or cylinder failure.
