CAT 096-0676 (0960676) is a main track link bushing adapted for the 760GT tracked chassis. It is used in conjunction with the 096-0232 track shoe, 096-0255 traction teeth, and the 095 series tensioning system (095-9882 retainer, 095-9936 spring, 095-9962 spring seat). It is designed for heavy-duty machines such as the 349/352/374/395 excavators and 982/988 loaders. Installed within the track link pin holes, it plays a crucial role in supporting the track pins, reducing friction and wear, and transmitting driving force. Suitable for heavy-duty abrasive conditions such as hard rock mining and quarrying, it is one of the core wear parts of the tracked walking system.

Item Details
Part Model CAT 096-0676 (0960676) Track Link Main Bushing (760GT Track Chassis)

Structure Type Integral alloy steel bushing, cylindrical type, with grease hole and axial oil groove, suitable for track pin clearance fit, chamfered ends to prevent assembly scratches

Material Boron alloy steel + alloy structural steel composite forging, surface induction hardening + low temperature tempering + molybdenum coating; inner hole accuracy H7, outer circle accuracy g6; Brinell hardness HB≥400, surface hardness HRC≥58, tensile strength ≥1400MPa, wear life more than 4 times higher than ordinary carbon steel bushings Cat® Parts

Key Dimensions (Original Nominal): Inner diameter approx. 50.8mm, outer diameter approx. 70mm, total length approx. 155mm; oil groove depth 1.5mm, grease hole diameter 6mm, chamfered ends C2.5; Compatible with track pin diameter 50mm, chain link pin hole diameter 70H7
Compatible Models: CAT 349, 352, 374, 395 hydraulic excavators; 982, 988 large loaders (760GT tracked chassis configuration)
Functional Positioning: Supports track pins, reduces friction and wear between pins and chain link holes, transmits track driving force, absorbs walking impact, and extends the service life of track links and pins in conjunction with the lubrication system.
Suitable Application Scenarios:
Installation Position: Inside the track link pin hole, with an interference fit to the track pin, rotating with the track pin relative to the chain link hole; each track plate corresponds to 2 bushings, installed in pairs. Before installation, ensure the chain link pin hole is clean and undamaged, and the interference fit between the bushing and the pin hole is controlled within 0.05-0.10mm.

Operating Conditions: Suitable for heavy-duty, high-abrasive environments such as mine stripping, quarries, and hard rock tunnels; used with Cat GLT grease lubrication system, lubrication cycle synchronized with track tensioning system (refill every 500 hours).

Matching Components: Must be compatible with original factory track pins, chain links, 096-0232 track shoes, and 096-0255 traction teeth; during replacement, simultaneously check track pin wear, chain link deformation, and the condition of the 095 series tensioning system to avoid track misalignment, chain link loosening, and other malfunctions caused by bushing wear.

Installation and Maintenance Points:

Installation: Clean the chain link pin holes and bushing surface to remove rust and oil; use liquid nitrogen to cool the bushing or heat the chain link pin holes (temperature difference method) to assist press-fitting; do not forcefully hammer or knock; after press-fitting, check that the bushing end face is flush with the chain link plane, without misalignment, and that the grease hole is aligned with the chain link oil passage.

After installing the track pins, add Cat-specific grease according to the original factory standard until new grease overflows from both ends of the bushing to ensure sufficient lubrication. After installation, test the track movement for smooth running without jamming or abnormal noise, and ensure the track sag meets the standard (3%-5% of the track roller spacing).

Maintenance Cycle: Under standard operating conditions, check bushing wear and grease leakage every 800 hours; for mining/rock conditions, shorten to 400 hours, recording the inner diameter wear of the bushing and the clearance between the track pin and the bushing.

Replacement Standard: When the inner diameter wear of the bushing is >1.5mm, or when surface peeling/cracks appear, grease holes are blocked, or the clearance between the bushing and the track pin is >2mm, the bushing must be replaced in pairs. Welding repairs and continued use are strictly prohibited to avoid damaging the track pins and track links.
