CAT 096-1861 (0961861) is a track pin end locking retainer (main anti-loosening locking plate) adapted for the 760GT tracked chassis. It is used on 349/352/374/395 excavators and 982/988 loaders. Installed on the outermost track pin, it forms a quadruple locking system with the 096-1555/096-1558/096-1823 retainers. Suitable for heavy-duty, high-impact working conditions such as hard rock mines and quarries, it is a core anti-loosening safety component of the tracked walking system.

Core Parameter Table

Item Details
Part Model CAT 096-1861 (0961861) Track Pin End Locking Fixer / Main Anti-loosening Locking Plate (760GT Track Chassis Dedicated)

Structure Type High-strength alloy steel rigid locking plate, three positioning teeth + double anti-loosening buckles, installed in pairs, in conjunction with 096-1555/096-1558/096-1823 fixing devices

Material 65Mn spring steel, quenched + low-temperature tempered; Dacromet coating for corrosion protection, hardness HRC44-49, elastic limit ≥1250MPa, fatigue life ≥6 million cycles

Key Dimensions Length approx. 45mm, width approx. 28mm, thickness approx. 5mm; positioning tooth height 2.2mm, adapts to track pin φ11mm positioning hole, clearance with chain link positioning groove ≤0.1mm

Compatible Models CAT Excavators 349, 352, 374, 395; Loaders 982, 988 (760GT tracked chassis, equipped with 096-0676 bushings, 096-1175 spacer rings, 096-1188 bearing caps, etc.)

Functional Positioning: The end-locking track pin forms a quadruple anti-detachment system with other retainers, preventing track pin detachment and chain link separation, ensuring the safety and stability of the walking system.

Suitable Applications:
Installation Position: The outermost track pin, embedded in the chain link positioning groove. Three positioning teeth engage with the track pin positioning hole, and double anti-loosening buckles mesh with the chain link groove, ensuring a seamless fit with other retainers.

Working Conditions: Suitable for heavy-duty, high-impact environments such as mining stripping, quarries, and hard rock tunnels; works with Cat GLT grease, checking the retainer condition every 500 hours.

Matching Components: Compatible with 096-0676 bushings, 096-1175 spacer rings, 096-1188 bearing caps, track pins, chain links, 096-0232 track shoes, and 096-1555/096-1558/096-1823 retainers; during replacement, simultaneously check track pin wear, chain link deformation, and the condition of the 095 series tensioning system.

Installation and Maintenance Points

Installation: Clean the track pin positioning holes, chain link positioning grooves, and retainer surfaces, removing rust and oil; align the three positioning teeth with the track pin positioning holes, press them into the positioning grooves with a special tool, ensuring the anti-loosening clips fully engage with the grooves and fit seamlessly with other retainers.

After installation, check the fit, test track movement for no jamming or abnormal noise, and ensure track sag is 3%-5% of the track roller spacing.

Maintenance cycle: Under standard operating conditions, check for deformation, wear, and engagement every 800 hours; for mining/rock conditions, shorten to 400 hours, recording the thickness wear and positioning tooth height data.

Replacement standard: When deformation, cracks, positioning tooth wear >1mm, anti-loosening clip failure, or clearance with track pins >0.2mm occurs, the parts must be replaced in pairs; repair and reuse are strictly prohibited.
