CAT 096-2360 BALL BEARING

CAT 096-2360 (0962360) is a deep groove ball bearing for axial positioning of track pins, compatible with the 760GT tracked chassis. It is used in 349/352/374/395 excavators and 982/988 loaders. Installed between the track pin end and the retainer, it bears radial loads and compensates for minor axial movement. Working in conjunction with retainers such as 096-1861, it ensures track pin stability and is suitable for heavy-duty applications such as mining and hard rock environments.

Suitable applications:
Installation location: Outermost track pin, located between the end of the track pin and the 096-1861 retainer, embedded in the chain link bearing seat hole, protected by double dust covers, interference fit with the track pin, clearance ≤ 0.01mm Cat® Parts.

Operating Conditions: Suitable for heavy-duty, high-impact environments such as hard rock mines and quarries. It can withstand radial loads during high-speed rotation of the track pins, compensate for slight axial movement of the track pins, and reduce friction and wear between the track pins and chain links. Use with Cat GLT grease and check its condition every 500 hours.

Compatible Components: Compatible with 096-0676 bushings, 096-1175 spacers, 096-1861 retainers, track pins, chain links, etc. During replacement, simultaneously check track pin wear, chain link deformation, and the tensioning system condition.

Installation and Maintenance Points:

Installation: Clean the bearing housing holes and track pin surface to remove rust and oil. Heat the bearings to 80-100℃ before heat-fitting. Press in with a special tool, ensuring both dust covers are intact and fit snugly against the retainer without gaps.

After installation, check rotational flexibility and test track movement for no jamming or abnormal noise. Track sag should be 3%-5% of the track roller spacing. Maintenance Cycle: Under standard operating conditions, check bearing rotation flexibility, dust cover condition, and lubrication every 800 hours; for mining/rock conditions, shorten this to 400 hours, recording bearing temperature and vibration data.

Replacement Standard: If abnormal rotational noise, jamming, dust cover damage, ball wear, radial clearance >0.05mm, or bearing outer ring deformation occurs, the bearing must be replaced in pairs. Repair and reuse are strictly prohibited.
