CAT 099-0235 is a Caterpillar genuine radial needle roller and cage assembly, adapted for high-speed rotating journals in compact spaces such as engines and transmissions, used to support journals and reduce friction. The following is pure raw data, without replacement parts information.
Core Technical Parameters (Raw Data)
Item Details
Basic Attributes
Model 099-0235, Type: Needle Roller Cage Assembly without Inner Ring, Material: GCr15 Bearing Steel (Needle Rollers) + 08 Steel (Stamped Cage), Surface Phosphating Treatment, Unit Weight: 0.032 kg, Operating Temperature: -40℃ to +120℃, Rated Dynamic Load: 12.8 kN, Rated Static Load: 18.5 kN, Limiting Speed: 9000 rpm (Grease Lubrication) / 12000 rpm (Oil Lubrication)
Key Dimensions (Metric / Imperial)
Needle Roller Assembly Inner Diameter: 25.0 mm (0.984 in), Needle Roller Assembly Outer Diameter: 30.0 mm (1.181 in), Assembly Width: 17.0 mm (0.669 in), Needle Roller Diameter: 2.5 mm, Number of Needles: 12, Cage Thickness: 1.0 mm, Chamfered Ends 0.5×45°
Suitable Models and Parts: Compatible with camshafts and balance shafts of Caterpillar 3116, 3126, and 3126B engines, as well as the countershaft of the gearbox in 910G and 924G loaders. Used for journal support and positioning. Fits journal diameter of 25.0 mm and bearing housing bore diameter of 30.0 mm.
Structural and Performance Characteristics:
Compact and Efficient Support: No inner ring structure, directly mates with the journal, saving installation space. The cage is stamped to ensure even distribution of needle rollers, avoiding friction and wear, suitable for high-speed rotation in confined cavities.
High-Precision Needle Roller Configuration: GCr15 bearing steel needle rollers are hardened to HRC 60-64, with a surface roughness Ra≤0.08 μm, suitable for high-frequency rotation and impact loads. Phosphating enhances rust resistance.
Stable Transmission Adaptor: Compatible with camshafts and balance shafts of Caterpillar 3116, 3126, and other engines, as well as the countershafts of some loader gearboxes. It supports and positions the journals, preventing axial movement.
Installation and Maintenance Points (Original Data)
Installation: Clean the journals and bearing housing bores. The journal surface roughness Ra ≤ 0.32 μm, hardness ≥ HRC 58, ensuring no scratches or rust.
Use the cold mounting method (temperature -20℃ to 0℃). Use a special tooling to press the cage assembly into the housing bore. Avoid directly striking the cage to prevent needle rollers from falling off or the cage from deforming.
After installation, check the end face runout of the assembly to be ≤ 0.03 mm, ensuring no interference with adjacent components.
Maintenance: Check the condition of the assembly every 1000 hours. Replace immediately if needle roller wear > 0.1 mm or if the cage is broken or deformed.
Ensure adequate lubrication. When using oil lubrication, the oil level should cover 1/2 of the component height. When using grease lubrication, the filling amount should be 1/3 to 1/2 of the bearing cavity volume.
