CAT 135-1707 is a Cat® Parts bearing press-fit retainer (flange type) for Caterpillar shaft bearings. It is used for axial positioning of the inner ring of bearings in Cat 320/323 excavators, 966K loaders, and other models to prevent axial movement of the bearing. It is suitable for low-to-medium speed and medium axial load conditions and is a key component for bearing positioning in transmission systems and working devices. The following is structured technical and application information:
Core Technical Parameters
Item Details
Basic Attributes
Model 135-1707, Type: Shaft bearing press-fit retainer (flange type), Material: 42CrMo alloy steel (surface anodized black, 240-hour salt spray rust prevention), Single weight: approx. 0.18 kg, Suitable temperature: -40℃ to +150℃, Installation method: press-fit + bolt fastening, with locating pin hole
Key Dimensions
Suitable shaft diameter: 45 mm (shaft groove diameter 44.8 mm, tolerance ±0.05 mm), retainer inner diameter: 44.9 mm (tolerance H7), outer diameter: 58 mm (tolerance g6), flange diameter: 65 mm, thickness: 5 mm (tolerance ±0.05 mm), number of bolt holes: 3 (evenly distributed, diameter 6 mm, tolerance H8), locating pin hole diameter: 4 mm, bolt hole center circle diameter: 55 mm
Suitable Models and Locations
Suitable for Cat 320 Axial positioning for excavator boom bearing inner ring, 323 excavator stick cylinder bearing, and 966K loader steering bearing. Installed on the inner ring end face of the bearing, one piece per bearing, bearing axial load (maximum axial force ≤20 kN). Cat® Parts
Performance Parameters: Rated axial load 20 kN, hardness HRC38-42, tensile strength ≥900 MPa, yield strength ≥750 MPa, press-fit interference 0.01-0.03 mm, bolt preload torque 8-10 N・m
Structural and Performance Advantages:
Reliable Axial Positioning: Flange-type structure combined with press-fit and bolt fastening provides double fixation, ensuring no axial movement of the bearing inner ring, suitable for Cat® Parts under medium axial load conditions.
Precise Positioning: Equipped with locating pin holes, it mates with the locating pin on the shaft during installation to ensure accurate circumferential positioning of the retainer and prevent rotational loosening.
Rust-resistant and durable: Made of 42CrMo alloy steel with an anodized black finish, providing strong rust resistance and making it suitable for humid and dusty construction environments, extending its service life.
Highly adaptable: Compatible with various Caterpillar heavy machinery bearings, ensuring precise fit with the bearing inner ring and stable operation of the transmission system.
Installation and maintenance points: Before installation, clean the shaft surface, bearing inner ring, and retainer, checking for cracks and deformation. First, press the retainer onto the shaft (interference 0.01-0.03 mm), then tighten with three M6 bolts (preload torque 8-10 N·m), aligning the locating pin hole with the locating pin on the shaft to ensure circumferential fixation.
Maintenance every 2500 hours: Check the tightness of the retainer bolts; if loose, retighten to the specified torque; check the retainer surface for rust and deformation, replacing any faulty parts immediately; also check the bearing clearance to ensure it is normal.
Original parts should be used preferentially. Aftermarket parts may have problems such as insufficient material strength and dimensional accuracy, which can easily lead to fixing failure, bearing movement, and component wear and failure.
