The CAT 165-9435 is Caterpillar’s mechanical suspension operator seat assembly, compatible with the cabs of Cat 320/323 excavators, 966K/972K loaders, D6T bulldozers, and other models. It focuses on vibration isolation and long-term seating comfort under heavy-duty conditions, and integrates functions such as seat belts and adjustable armrests. It is a core component for improving operational safety and driving experience. The following is structured technical and application information:
Core Technical Parameters
Item Details
Basic Attributes
Model 165-9435, Type: Mechanical Suspension Operator Seat, Material: Carbon steel frame + high-density cold-foamed PU seat/backrest + wear-resistant black vinyl fabric, Weight: Approx. 18.5 kg, Voltage: 12/24V (seatbelt buckle/heating optional), Temperature: -30℃ to +70℃, Protection Rating: IP40 (dust/splash resistant)
Key Dimensions
Seat cushion width: 510 mm, Depth: 480 mm; Backrest width: 510 mm, Height: 650 mm; Total height: 980 mm (including headrest), Total width: 620 mm, Total depth: 750 mm; Mounting hole spacing: 450×250 mm (fits standard cab mounting plate); Suspension travel: 75 mm (height and width); Forward and backward adjustment travel: 150 mm; Backrest angle adjustment range: 90°-120°, handrail height adjustment range 60-120 mm
Compatible Models and Applications: Compatible with Cat 320/323 excavator cabs, 966K/972K loader cabs, and D6T bulldozer cabs. Mounted on the cab floor mounting plate, one piece per unit, providing operator support, vibration isolation, and safety restraint.
Performance Parameters: Mechanical suspension system rated load 50-120 kg, vibration isolation efficiency ≥80% (5-8 Hz), seat/backrest hardness Shore 25-30°, three-point safety belt (length 2200 mm, tensile strength ≥6000 N), handrail adjustment force ≤15 N, fore-and-aft adjustment force ≤20 N, suspension locking force ≤25 N
Structural and Performance Advantages: Highly efficient vibration isolation: mechanical spring + The damper suspension structure effectively filters low-frequency vibrations during equipment operation, reducing operator fatigue in the lower back and spine. It is suitable for high-frequency vibration conditions in excavators, loaders, and other similar machines, improving driving comfort and operational safety.
Ergonomic Fit: High-density PU foam seat/backrest conforms to the human body’s curves, distributing pressure. The vinyl fabric is wear-resistant and easy to clean, suitable for harsh environments such as dusty and oily conditions in construction machinery. Multi-dimensional adjustments (fore-and-aft, backrest, armrests) accommodate operators of different heights and body types, reducing fatigue from prolonged sitting.
Safe and Reliable: Integrated three-point seat belts provide high-strength safety restraint, suitable for emergency stops and bumpy conditions. The carbon steel frame has a tensile strength ≥400 MPa, strong impact resistance, and ensures structural stability under extreme conditions.
Easy Installation and Maintenance: Standardized mounting hole spacing fits the original cab mounting plate; installation is completed simply by bolt fixing. The suspension system is maintenance-free, requiring only periodic checks of the springs, dampers, and seat belts, reducing maintenance costs.
Installation and Maintenance Points:
**Before installation, clean the mounting plate and check that the seat frame is free from deformation, the suspension system is free from jamming, and the seat belts are free from damage.** Align the seat with the mounting holes and tighten with M12×1.75 bolts (torque 45-50 N・m). After installation, check that the suspension and adjustment functions are normal and that the seat belt buckles are smooth.
Every 2000 hours of maintenance: Check the suspension springs for cracks and the dampers for leaks. Replenish the armrests/fore-and-aft adjustment mechanisms with grease (NLGI 2 lithium-based grease). Replace the seat belts when wear is ≥10% or tensile strength is <5000 N. Replace the seat cushion/backrest fabric immediately if damaged.
Prioritize genuine parts. Aftermarket parts may have insufficient frame strength, suspension system damping failure, or substandard seat belt strength, leading to poor vibration isolation, significant safety hazards, and impacting operator health and safety.
