The CAT 247-8714 is a Caterpillar genuine single-row cylindrical roller bearing with a cage. It is suitable for the gearbox shaft, transfer case output shaft, or final drive support of mini excavators and loaders. It is used to withstand high radial loads under heavy-duty conditions and is suitable for medium-to-low speed, impact-prone transmission scenarios, ensuring stable power transmission and reducing shaft vibration and wear.
Core Technical Parameters
Item Details
Part Model: CAT 247-8714 (2478714) Cylindrical Roller Bearing, Original Part Number, No Official Direct Replacement
Material: Bearing steel (SAE 52100/SUJ2), Inner/Outer Ring and Rollers integrally hardened (HRC 60-64), Cage is stamped low-carbon steel, suitable for gearbox oil/gear oil lubrication environment
Key Dimensions: Inner diameter 45mm, Outer diameter 75mm, Width 16mm, Roller diameter 5mm, Quantity 10, Radial clearance 0.010-0.015mm, Shaft fit tolerance h6, Seat bore fit tolerance H7
Compatible Models: CAT 305.5E2/306E2 mini excavators, 906M/907M loaders, 247B skid steer loaders, used for gearbox second shaft support, transfer case input shaft rear end, final drive sun gear shaft front end
Performance Parameters Rated dynamic load: 38kN, rated static load: 42kN, limiting speed: 5000r/min (oil lubrication), operating temperature: -30℃ to 120℃, compatible gear oil viscosity: ISO VG 80-140. Core Functions and Structure:
High Radial Load Adaptation: Cylindrical roller line contact structure with a large contact area, suitable for radial loads in heavy-duty components such as gearboxes and final drives, preventing shaft bending deformation and ensuring gear meshing accuracy and transmission efficiency.
Separable Design for Easy Assembly: The inner ring can be separated for easy installation and disassembly, suitable for maintenance operations in confined spaces. The cage precisely guides the rollers, reducing friction between rollers and lowering operating noise and wear.
Impact Load Buffering: The elastic fit between the rollers and the cage absorbs impact loads from the transmission system, suitable for frequent start-stop operations and sudden load changes in engineering machinery, extending the service life of bearings and shaft components.
Installation and Maintenance Points
Installation Specifications
Clean the journal, housing, and bearing to remove oil and metal shavings. Check the journal surface roughness Ra ≤ 0.8μm, free from rust and scratches; housing roundness ≤ 0.01mm.
Cold-fit press-in (apply pressure to the inner/outer ring end faces using a special sleeve). Do not strike the rollers or cage. After installation, check radial clearance and rotational flexibility to ensure no jamming.
Before installation, ensure the lubrication channels are clear. After assembly, pre-lubricate with gear oil to avoid dry friction during startup.
Maintenance Recommendations
Every 1000 working hours, check: transmission oil level and quality (free from metal debris and emulsification), bearing operating temperature (≤ 85℃). If the oil contains a large number of metal particles, disassemble and inspect the bearing for wear.
During a major transmission overhaul, this bearing must be replaced. Simultaneously check the journal wear. If wear exceeds 0.05mm, repair the journal or replace the entire bearing assembly.
