CAT 286-0602 is a Caterpillar steel-backed copper alloy (SF-2 composite material) wear-resistant bushing, mainly used in the boom pin, stick pin, bucket pin and other hinge parts of loaders, excavators and backhoe loaders. It is compatible with models such as 420D/420F backhoe loaders, 966K loaders and 320D excavators. Its core function is to reduce friction between the pin and the pin hole, absorb impact and compensate for clearance, extend the service life of the hinge parts and prevent loosening and abnormal noise. The following is structured technical and application information:

Core Technical Parameters

Item Details
Basic Attributes
Model 286-0602, steel-backed copper alloy wear-resistant bushing, compatible with 420D/420F excavator loader boom pin, 966K loader stick pin, 320D excavator bucket pin, material is steel back + SF-2 copper alloy (lead bronze, hardness HB 90-110), surface has oil reservoir + molybdenum disulfide coating (thickness 0.01-0.02 mm), working temperature -40℃ to +120℃, single weight approximately 0.92 kg, suitable for grease lubrication (lithium-based grease NLGI 2), rated radial load ≥80 kN, wear life ≥6000 hours, used for friction reduction and impact absorption at hinged parts, preventing wear of pins and pin holes

Key Dimensions
Inner diameter 50.00 mm (1.969 in, tolerance H7, +0.030/0 65.00 mm outer diameter (2.559 in, tolerance s6, +0.048/+0.033 mm), 70.00 mm total length (2.756 in, tolerance ±0.15 mm), C2.0 mm chamfer at both ends, Ra≤0.8 μm inner hole roughness, 0.05-0.10 mm clearance fit with pin shaft, 0.020-0.035 mm interference fit with pin hole, suitable for standard pin shaft diameter 50 mm.

Material and Manufacturing Process: Low carbon steel backing (Q235, quenched and tempered HB 180-200) → copper alloy centrifugal casting → precision turning → drilling (oil reservoir φ2 mm, spacing 15 mm) → molybdenum disulfide coating → precision grinding. It possesses good load-bearing capacity, wear resistance, and self-lubricating properties, suitable for heavy-duty, low-speed oscillating conditions.

Compatible Models: Cat 420D/420F excavator loader boom. Boom hinge pins, 966K/972M loader boom pins, 320D/336D excavator bucket pins, and 416D/416E excavator loader bucket pins are used to reduce friction, buffer impact, and compensate for clearance at the hinge joint, preventing abnormal wear between the pin and the pin hole.

Assembly Fit: Compatible with 50 mm diameter pins (tolerance h6, 0/-0.016 mm), with an interference fit of 0.020-0.035 mm with the pin hole. Pressing force: 3-5 tons. Rear end face runout ≤0.10 mm, coaxiality ≤0.05 mm. After press-fitting, the oil reservoir hole must be aligned with the lubrication channel.

Installation and Maintenance Points: Before installation, clean the bushing, pin hole, and pin shaft. Check for scratches, rust, and burrs on the surface. Measure the outer diameter of the bushing and the inner diameter of the pin hole, and the inner diameter of the bushing and the outer diameter of the pin shaft to ensure the fit meets requirements. The surface roughness of the pin hole Ra ≤1.6. μm, with a flat, undeformed end face.

Use a cold pressing method (using a dedicated pressing tool) to vertically press the bushing into the pin hole, ensuring the bushing end face is flush with the pin hole end face. Do not strike directly with a hammer to prevent the copper alloy layer from peeling off or deforming. After pressing, check that the oil reservoir is clear and aligned with the lubrication channel.

Maintenance Recommendations: Check the bushing wear every 1000 hours. If the inner diameter wear is >0.20 mm or loosening or abnormal noise occurs, replace immediately. Apply lithium-based grease every 250 hours daily to ensure adequate lubrication and avoid dry friction that could accelerate wear.
