CAT 296-6269 is a Caterpillar-specific double-row tapered roller bearing assembly, commonly used in the drive axle differential or gearbox output of mini loaders and excavators. It is compatible with Cat 906/907/908 mini loaders and 307/308/309 series excavators. The following is precise technical and application information.
Core Parameters (Precise Version)
Item Details
Basic Attributes Model 296-6269, Double row tapered roller bearing assembly (including inner ring, outer ring, rollers, cage), paired installation, suitable for high radial + bidirectional axial load conditions, compatible with differentials and drive axle main reducers
Compatible Models Cat 906, 907, 908 mini wheel loaders, 307/307.5/308/309 series mini excavators, compatible drive axle models 155-4022, 155-4023, gearbox models 416-4000, 416-4001
Material and Process Bearing steel (52100 chromium alloy), inner/outer ring hardness HRC 60-64, roller hardness HRC 62-66, stamped steel cage, contact nitrile rubber seal, radial clearance C3 (medium grade), precision grade ISO P0
Key Dimensions Inner Diameter 73.817mm (2.9062 inches), outer diameter 112.713mm (4.4375 inches), width 25.40mm (1.0000 inches), chamfer R1.52mm, weight approx. 0.90kg
Performance Parameters: Basic rated dynamic load 85.2kN, basic rated static load 112.5kN, grease-lubricated limiting speed 4500rpm, oil-lubricated limiting speed 5500rpm, operating temperature -40℃ to +120℃, installation interference 0.02-0.04mm
Core Functions and Application Scenarios: Heavy-duty load bearing: The double-row structure can withstand high radial loads (≤60kN) and bidirectional large axial loads (≤40kN), suitable for heavy-duty components such as drive axle differentials and final drive reducers.
Positioning and Locking: Restricts radial and axial displacement of the shaft, assists in differential assembly positioning, prevents gear meshing clearance changes, and is suitable for medium-to-high speed and high-frequency impact conditions.
Typical Locations: Both ends of the drive axle differential, and the output shaft end of the gearbox. Used to connect the differential housing and half-shafts, transmitting power and bearing driving and operating loads.
Installation and Maintenance Points
Before Installation: Clean the journal and bearing housing bores, and check the bearings for deformation, cracks, or roller spalling; measure the clearance between the journal and bearing inner diameter to be 0.02-0.04mm; prepare the press-in tool and hydraulic pump station (press-in pressure approximately 10-15kN).
During Installation: Install in pairs (face-to-face or back-to-back), maintaining coaxiality during press-in, applying uniform press-in force, and after press-in, check the bearing end face runout to be ≤0.1mm; after installation, inject extreme pressure lithium-based grease (NLGI 2) to ensure adequate lubrication.
Maintenance and replacement: Check the bearing operating noise and temperature every 5000 hours. If abnormal noise, temperature exceeding 85℃, or radial clearance exceeding 0.20mm occurs, replace the bearings in pairs immediately. Welding or repair welding is prohibited.
