CAT 298-7073 is a Caterpillar original bearing pad, a wear-resistant pressure pad for heavy-duty spherical bearings. It is suitable for the boom, rocker arm and other hinge parts of Cat mini loaders/skid steer loaders. It is used to distribute bearing load, compensate for installation clearance and absorb impact vibration. It weighs about 0.12 kg and 1-2 pieces are used per joint. The following is professional structured information:
Core Technical Parameters (Professional Version)
Item Details
Basic Attributes Model 298-7073, square composite bearing gasket, suitable for spherical plain bearing end face positioning, no lubrication groove, operating temperature -40℃ to +120℃, rated static surface pressure 25 MPa, rated dynamic surface pressure 12 MPa
Key Dimensions Length 45 mm, width 35 mm, thickness 5 mm (tolerance ±0.05 mm), positioning hole diameter φ8 mm (2, symmetrically distributed), edge chamfer C0.5 mm, suitable bearing outer diameter φ50-φ60 mm
Material and Process Adopts a three-layer composite structure: low carbon steel back (thickness 2.0 mm, HB 180-200) + copper-lead alloy intermediate layer (thickness 2.0 mm, CuPb10Sn10) + polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) solid lubrication surface layer (thickness 1.0 mm, with added graphite/ Molybdenum disulfide (molybdenum disulfide, coefficient of friction ≤0.08), with no oil grooves on the surface, relying on a solid lubrication layer for self-lubrication.
Compatible Models: Compatible with the boom articulation bearings and rocker arm spherical bearings of Cat 239D/249D/259D/279C/289C skid steer loaders and 906/907/908 mini loaders. Installed between the bearing end face and the bracket.
Assembly Fit: Clearance fit with the bracket (clearance 0.02-0.05 mm); surface contact with the bearing end face, secured with M6 bolts to prevent axial movement. After installation, ensure parallelism ≤0.03 mm.
Installation and Replacement Points: Before installation, clean the bracket mounting surface and bearing end face, removing oil, rust, and burrs. Measure the flatness of the mounting surface to ensure ≤0.02 mm.
After positioning the gasket with locating pins, evenly tighten the M6 bolts, controlling the torque to 8-10 N·m, avoiding overtightening the bolts to prevent gasket deformation.
After installation, check that the joint moves freely without jamming, with axial movement ≤0.1 mm, uniform load distribution, and no localized gaps.
Maintenance cycle: Check the gasket wear every 1500 hours. If the surface wear is ≥0.5 mm or detachment occurs, replace it immediately.
