CAT 299-2149 is a Caterpillar heavy-duty tapered roller bearing assembly, commonly used in the input/output shafts, differentials, and wheel hubs of the gearbox, drive axle, or final drive of loaders, excavators, and graders. It bears radial and bidirectional axial combined loads, is suitable for heavy-duty and impact conditions, and ensures stable operation of the transmission system. The following is the core information:
Core Technical Parameters
Item Details
Part Model: CAT 299-2149 (2992149) Bearing Assembly, pre-assembled tapered roller bearing (including inner ring, outer ring, rollers and cage, some include seals)
Material: Inner ring / Outer ring / Rollers: Chromium bearing steel (GCr15SiMn), Cage: Stamped steel plate / Nylon, Seals: Nitrile rubber (NBR), Suitable for mineral oil / gear oil applications
Key Dimensions: Inner diameter 65mm, outer diameter 140mm, width 33mm, cone angle 12°30′, inner ring large end diameter 95mm, outer ring small end diameter 75mm, single weight approximately 1.8kg, suitable for mounting positions with a shaft diameter of 65mm and a mounting hole diameter of 140mm
Compatible Models: CAT 950M/962M loaders, 320GC/330GC This product is suitable for excavators, 140M graders, D6T bulldozers, 777F mining trucks, etc., and is compatible with gearbox output shafts, drive axle differentials, wheel hubs, and final drive input shafts.
Performance Parameters: Radial load ≥200kN, Axial load ≥120kN, Limiting speed 3000rpm (grease lubrication)/4500rpm (oil lubrication), Operating temperature -40℃ to 120℃, Coefficient of friction ≤0.003, Service life ≥8000 working hours.
Core Functions and Structural Features:
Tilted roller structure: Can simultaneously withstand radial and bidirectional axial loads, suitable for heavy-duty, impact, and off-center load conditions, ensuring precise positioning and stable operation of transmission components.
Pre-assembled design: Inner ring, outer ring, rollers, and cage are pre-assembled, including seals for dust and leakage prevention, simplifying installation, avoiding assembly errors, and improving assembly efficiency and accuracy.
High wear resistance and high rigidity: Made of bearing steel with integral quenching, surface hardness HRC 58-62, hardening depth 2-3mm, surface roughness Ra≤0.1μm, suitable for high-frequency rotation and heavy-load conditions, reducing wear and vibration.
Sealing and dust prevention: Nitrile rubber seals are compatible with gear oil/grease, preventing contaminants from entering and grease leakage, suitable for dusty, muddy, and other harsh working conditions.
Installation and maintenance points:
Installation specifications: Clean the journal and bearing housing bore to remove oil, metal filings, and burrs. Journal roundness ≤0.01mm, bearing housing bore diameter tolerance H7 (140mm+0.04mm).
Heat the inner ring to 80-100℃ (induction heating/oil bath heating), quickly and smoothly install it onto the journal. Use a press to press the outer ring into the bearing housing bore, ensuring a proper end-face fit without tilting. Axial clearance should be controlled at 0.03-0.08mm.
After installation, check for smooth rotation, ensuring there is no jamming or abnormal noise. Perform a 30-minute no-load test run, monitoring the temperature to be ≤80℃.
Maintenance Recommendations: Every 1000 operating hours, check the bearing temperature, vibration, and seals. If the temperature rises abnormally (>80℃), vibration increases, or seals are damaged, immediately stop the machine and inspect.
Regularly change the gear oil/grease, maintaining the oil level at the center line of the oil gauge and ensuring the oil quality meets standards. Prevent poor bearing lubrication that leads to accelerated wear.
Bearings with radial clearance >0.15mm or surface peeling or cracks must be replaced to prevent further damage to transmission components.
