Installation and Maintenance Points
Installation Specifications
Clean the mounting surface, ensuring it is free of rust, oil, and burrs. The trunnion mounting hole tolerance should be +0.02–+0.04 mm to ensure a precise fit.
Use cold-press installation. Use a dedicated press to smoothly press the trunnion into the mounting hole. Do not strike the end face to avoid deformation or damage.
During assembly, use M24×2 bolts (grade 10.9) for symmetrical tightening. The torque should be 280–300 N·m, and the preload should be controlled at 0.03–0.05 mm.
Maintenance Recommendations
Inspect every 800 working hours: Check the trunnion for cracks, surface peeling, damaged seals, and grease leaks. Replace any faulty parts immediately.
Before long-term storage (>30 days), rotate the hinge 5–8 times to ensure even grease coverage and prevent dry friction and corrosion.
When replacing parts, prioritize CAT original parts or YM/SEM/GD quality parts of the same specifications to ensure compatibility with bushings and seals.
