CAT 2N-7194 is a Caterpillar genuine pipe end cap/plug (CAP – PIPE) used to seal the ports of hydraulic lines, fuel lines, or lubrication lines to prevent impurities from entering and oil leakage. It is compatible with various Cat® piping systems in construction machinery… The following are key information.

Core Technical Parameters

Item Details
Part Model CAT 2N-7194 (Pipe End Cap/Plug, Single Piece)

Material Low carbon steel (Q235), galvanized and passivated for rust prevention, or NBR rubber seal embedded, resistant to oil and common media in engineering machinery

Key Dimensions Applicable pipe diameters approx. 1/2″ – 3/4″ (12.7-19.05mm), thread specifications mostly NPT 1/2 or BSPT 3/8, outer diameter approx. 25mm, height approx. 18mm

Single Weight Approx. 0.08kg (0.18 lbs)

Compatible Machines CAT 320/330 excavators, 966/972 loaders, C13/C15 engines, etc., commonly used for hydraulic oil tank return ports, fuel pre-filter outlets, and blind ends of lubrication lines

Performance Characteristics Working pressure ≤35MPa, working temperature -40℃ to +120℃, thread precision 6H/6g, sealing surface roughness Ra≤0.8μm, anti-loosening and vibration resistant, suitable for high-pressure conditions.

Structure and Core Functions

Sealing Protection: Metal thread + rubber seal combination achieves static sealing at the pipe end, preventing oil leakage and the intrusion of contaminants such as dust and moisture, protecting the cleanliness and pressure stability of the pipeline system.

Temporary Sealing: Temporarily seals idle ports during equipment assembly, maintenance, or pipeline modification to prevent oil loss and component contamination. It can also be used as a spare plug for different pipelines.

Easy Installation: Threaded connection, no special tools required, manual tightening is sufficient. Some models have slotted/hex sockets for easy disassembly, suitable for quick maintenance scenarios.

Suitable Scenarios and Installation/Maintenance Points

Suitable Scenarios: Blind ends of hydraulic system pipelines, spare interfaces of fuel systems, branch ports of lubrication lines, temporary sealing during filter replacement, etc.

Installation Specifications: Clean the threads and sealing surfaces, ensuring they are free of burrs, oil, and rust. Wrap PTFE tape (2-3 turns) or apply thread sealant (such as Loctite 567). Manually tighten until the sealing surfaces are in contact, controlling the torque to 15-25 N·m.

Avoid overtightening, which could strip the threads or damage the seal. Ensure a reliable, leak-free seal.

Maintenance Recommendations: Check for leaks at the sealing point every 500 working hours. Replace seals regularly to prevent aging and failure.

After disassembly, clean the threads and sealing surfaces. Store properly to prevent rust and deformation. Spare parts must be sealed and stored.
