The CAT 2W-8060 is a Caterpillar genuine high-pressure hydraulic/oil port plug assembly with sealing. It is used for sealing engine oil passages, transmission housings, hydraulic oil tanks, and other components. Suitable for excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and other equipment, it prevents leakage, dust, and pressure relief. It is a key wear component for fluid system sealing (Cat®…).
Core Technical Parameters
Item Details
Part Model: CAT 2W-8060 Sealing Plug Assembly (including plug body + O-ring/sealing gasket, some with anti-loosening structure)
Material: Plug body is medium carbon steel (45# steel), galvanized/Dacromet treated, rust and corrosion resistant; sealing element is nitrile rubber (NBR), oil resistant, temperature resistant -40℃ to 120℃, suitable for hydraulic oil/engine oil conditions
Key Dimensions: Thread specifications commonly 1/2-14 NPTF or M20×1.5, head is hexagonal/internal hexagonal, diameter approximately 20-25mm, length approximately 25-35mm, weight approximately 0.05-0.1kg, with pre-applied thread sealant, installation torque 80-120N・m (subject to machine manual)
Compatible Models: Excavators 320D/336D, Loaders Suitable for 966K/980K engines, bulldozer D6R/D7R engines, and engines C7.1/C9.3, for sealing oil passages in engine blocks, gearbox side covers, hydraulic pump housings, and fuel tank bottoms.
Performance Features: Double leak-proof design with threaded seals and end face seals; anti-loosening design suitable for vibration conditions; high pressure resistance (≤35MPa); suitable for high-temperature oil environments; easy to install and disassemble; reusable (seals need to be replaced).
Core Functions:
* Fluid Sealing: Seals openings in oil passages and housings to prevent leakage of hydraulic oil, engine oil, fuel, etc., maintaining stable system pressure and avoiding oil waste and environmental pollution.
* Dust and Contamination Prevention: Prevents dust, sand, moisture, and other impurities from entering the system, protecting internal components and preventing wear and malfunctions.
* Convenient Maintenance: Serves as an inspection port for easy oil draining, venting, pressure testing, or sampling, simplifying maintenance procedures and improving efficiency.
* Safety Pressure Relief: Some models include a pressure relief structure to prevent system overpressure, protecting the housing and pipelines and reducing the risk of bursting. Installation and Maintenance Points
Installation Specifications
Clean the threads and sealing surfaces, removing oil, rust, and impurities. Check for thread damage and ensure the seals are intact to prevent leakage after installation.
Replace the O-ring/gasket with a new one. Apply a small amount of thread sealant (e.g., Loctite 567) and tighten evenly and crisscross to the specified torque to prevent thread stripping or seal deformation.
Do not exceed the torque limit during installation to avoid damaging the housing threads. After installation, check for leaks to ensure a reliable seal.
Maintenance Recommendations
Check every 500-800 working hours: for loose plugs and leaks, and for aged or cracked seals. Tighten or replace any faulty parts immediately.
Replace the seals after each oil drain/maintenance to ensure sealing performance. For equipment that is to be stored for an extended period, check the condition of the plugs to prevent oil leakage.
