CAT 322-9502 is a Caterpillar genuine spring positioning steel bushing, suitable for the spring suspension, track tensioning mechanism, or shock absorption components of tracked excavators, loaders, and other equipment. Its core function is to position the spring, guide its extension and retraction, bear radial loads, and buffer vibrations, ensuring stable spring operation under dynamic conditions and preventing uneven wear and failure (Cat®…).

Core Technical Parameters

Item Details
Part Model: CAT 322-9502 Spring Bushing, original part number 3229502, a special-purpose part, suitable for spring positioning and guiding parts, no official direct replacement model.

Material: Medium carbon alloy structural steel, surface hardened, hardness HRC 55-58, inner hole precision ground, roughness Ra≤0.2μm, possessing good wear resistance and fatigue resistance, suitable for vibration conditions.

Key Dimensions: Inner diameter 50mm, outer diameter 65mm, length 45mm, chamfered ends 0.8×45°, no inner hole oil groove, interference fit with mounting hole (interference 0.01-0.015mm) to ensure positioning accuracy.

Compatible Models: CAT 320D/330D excavator, 966H/972H loader, D6R Used in bulldozers and other applications for track tension spring positioning, suspension spring guidance, and shock absorber spring support, bearing vibration and cyclic loads.

Performance Characteristics: Rated radial load 50kN, operating temperature -40℃ to 120℃, suitable for low-speed reciprocating conditions of spring extension and retraction (≤30 times/minute), requires no additional lubrication, relies on the grease inherent in the spring’s movement for lubrication.

Core Functions and Structure:

Spring Positioning and Guiding: Precisely positions the spring during installation, guides its extension and retraction, prevents spring misalignment, tilting, or jamming under dynamic loads, and avoids friction interference between the spring and surrounding components.

Load Buffering: Adapts to spring vibration and cyclic loads, absorbing some impact energy through its own rigid support, reducing the impact of spring vibration on the installation structure, and lowering the risk of structural fatigue damage.

Wear Protection: Hardened inner bore reduces the coefficient of friction between the spring and bushing, reducing wear during spring extension and retraction, extending the service life of the spring and bushing, and ensuring long-term stable operation of the spring mechanism.

Installation and Maintenance Points

Installation Specifications
Clean the bushing, mounting holes, and spring contact surfaces to remove oil, rust, and impurities. Inspect the bushing for cracks, deformation, and other defects. Mounting hole tolerances must meet H7 grade requirements.

Use cold pressing to press the bushing into the mounting hole. Avoid directly striking the bushing end face to prevent deformation. After installation, check that the bushing end face runout is ≤0.03mm to ensure coaxiality.

When installing the spring, ensure the spring and bushing are coaxial to prevent uneven spring wear that could lead to increased localized bushing wear.

Maintenance Recommendations
Check every 800 working hours: for looseness or abnormal noise in the spring bushing, and for uneven spring wear. If the bushing inner diameter wear exceeds 0.3mm or the gap is greater than 0.4mm, replace it immediately.

Regularly clean impurities from the spring mechanism to keep the spring extension channel unobstructed and prevent impurities from entering between the bushing and spring, causing abnormal wear.
