CAT 325-6029 GD is a needle roller bearing for Caterpillar’s General Duty boom joints, suitable for the boom and stick articulation points of loaders, excavators, and other equipment. It bears radial loads and reduces friction at the articulation points. The following is Cat’s structured technical and application information:
Core Technical Parameters
Item Details
Basic Attributes
Model 325-6029 GD, Type: Cage-supported needle roller bearing, Material: Bearing steel (GCr15), Outer ring: Stamped steel, Cage: Engineering plastic, Weight: Approximately 1.2 kg, Operating Temperature: -40℃ to +120℃, Suitable Operating Conditions: Medium load, low speed oscillation, primarily radial loads
Key Dimensions
Inner diameter: 80 mm, Outer diameter: 100 mm, Width: 25 mm, Needle roller diameter: 4 mm, Number of needle rollers: 45, Radial clearance: 0.05-0.10 mm, Inner and outer ring coaxiality: ≤0.02 mm, Surface roughness: Ra≤0.4 μm, tolerance conforms to ISO 492 standard.
Compatible Models and Parts: Compatible with the boom-to-frame hinge of Cat 950H/966H loaders, the stick-to-boom hinge of 320D/323D excavators, and the blade lifting arm joint of D6N bulldozers. One piece per hinge point is used to bear radial loads and ensure flexible swing of the hinge.
Performance Parameters: Rated radial dynamic load 120 kN, rated radial static load 200 kN, limiting speed 500 rpm, fatigue life ≥5000 hours, strong impact load resistance, can withstand short-term impacts of 1.5 times the rated load, grease lubrication, recommended grease is Cat 2C-9600.
Structural and Performance Advantages:
High load-bearing capacity: needle roller bearing structure provides high radial load capacity in a small space, suitable for medium-load conditions at the lifting arm hinge. GCr15 bearing steel material, good wear resistance, high fatigue strength, and extended service life.
Low coefficient of friction: The cage design and evenly distributed needle rollers reduce friction between the rollers, lowering the motion resistance at the hinge, improving operational flexibility, and reducing energy consumption.
Easy installation and maintenance: The outer ring is made of stamped steel, with a compact structure. It can be directly pressed into the bearing housing during installation, eliminating the need for complex positioning. Maintenance only requires periodic grease replenishment, reducing maintenance costs.
High versatility: The GD universal operating condition design is compatible with the lifting arm hinges of various machine models, reducing spare parts inventory. It is suitable for medium-load, low-speed oscillating conditions, offering high cost-effectiveness.
Installation and maintenance points: Before installation, clean the bearing housing and shaft diameter, removing burrs and oil stains. Check that the inner diameter of the bearing housing and the shaft diameter meet the tolerance requirements. Use a special pressing tool to press the bearing into the bearing housing to avoid outer ring deformation. After installation, check that the bearing rotates freely without any jamming.
Lubrication Specifications: Before installation, apply sufficient grease between the needle rollers and the cage. Replenish grease every 500 hours, adding 1/3 to 1/2 of the bearing volume each time. Use Cat 2C-9600 or equivalent lithium-based grease.
Maintenance Cycle: Check bearing clearance and wear every 2000 hours. If radial clearance exceeds 0.2 mm or if wear or cracks appear on the needle rollers or outer ring, replace immediately. Avoid overloading the hinged joints to prevent bearing damage.
