CAT 330-9258 YM is a Caterpillar genuine bimetallic/bronze-based sleeve bearing, primarily used in low-speed, heavy-load components of engine camshafts, balance shafts, or drivetrains. It is compatible with Caterpillar 320D/336D excavators, C7/C9 engines, etc. It supports the journal through sliding friction and possesses wear resistance, friction reduction, and impact resistance, making it suitable for impact and vibration conditions.

Core Technical Parameters

Item Details
Part Model: CAT 330-9258 YM Sleeve Bearing

Material: Bimetallic structure: steel backing + high-tin bronze (CuSn10Pb10). The steel backing provides strength (hardness HB 200-240), and the bronze layer contains solid lubricant for friction reduction and wear resistance. Suitable for mineral oil lubrication. Operating temperature: -30℃ to 110℃. Operating pressure: ≤25MPa. Linear speed: ≤5m/s

Key Dimensions: Inner diameter approx. 75mm, outer diameter approx. 85mm, length approx. 65mm, wall thickness 5mm, number of oil grooves: 2, oil hole diameter: 4mm, oil groove depth: 0.8mm, journal tolerance: h6, bearing housing tolerance: H7, clearance: 0.04-0.06mm

Compatible Models: Compatible with 320D/323D/336D excavators, 950H Loaders and C7/C9 engines use this product for low-speed, heavy-load components such as camshaft supports, balance shaft bushings, and transmission gear bushings.

Performance Characteristics: The bimetallic structure balances strength and friction reduction. The bronze layer contains solid lubricant, suitable for boundary lubrication conditions. Oil grooves and holes ensure lubrication, while the steel backing resists impact and vibration, reducing journal wear and extending component life.

Core Functions and Structure:

Sliding Support and Friction Reduction: As the sliding contact component between the journal and bearing housing, it reduces friction and wear, supports stable journal operation, is suitable for low-speed, heavy-load, and impact conditions, and avoids direct contact between the journal and bearing housing.

Lubrication and Heat Dissipation: Oil grooves and holes guide lubricating oil into the friction surface, forming an oil film, reducing the coefficient of friction, and carrying away heat, suitable for continuous operation conditions, and preventing overheating-induced accelerated wear.

Shock Buffering: The combined structure of the steel backing and bronze layer buffers vibration and impact loads, protecting the journal and bearing housing, and is suitable for frequent start-stop and load fluctuation conditions in construction machinery.

Installation and Maintenance Points

Installation Specifications: Clean the journal, bearing housing, and bearing sleeve to remove oil and impurities. Inspect the bearing for cracks, deformation, and any peeling of the bronze layer. Measure the dimensions of the journal and bearing housing to ensure a clearance of 0.04-0.06mm.

Install using cold fitting or press fitting methods. Do not directly strike the bearing end face. After installation, check that the oil hole and oil groove are aligned with the lubrication system to ensure smooth lubrication flow.

Apply clean mineral oil after installation for pre-lubrication before starting to avoid dry friction.

Maintenance Recommendations: Every 1500 working hours, check: bearing temperature (normally ≤90℃), lubricating oil pressure and cleanliness, and measure the clearance. Replace the bearing when the clearance exceeds 0.15mm.

Change the lubricating oil regularly using CAT standard CF-4/CH-4 grade oil. Shorten the oil change interval for heavy-duty conditions to prevent bearing wear caused by lubricating oil contamination.
