CAT 379-2690 is a Caterpillar straight-tube steel bushing, suitable for connecting rods, rocker arm shafts, balance shafts, and other parts of Cat C15/C18 engines, 349/352 excavators, 980K loaders, and other models. It is used for sliding support and wear protection, reducing friction and wear between the shaft and the housing, and is a key wear-resistant component of the power and transmission system, Cat® Parts. The following is structured technical and application information:
Core Technical Parameters
Item Details
Basic Attributes
Model 379-2690, Type: Straight cylindrical steel bushing, Material: 20CrMnTi alloy steel tube (inner hole quenching HRC58-62, surface oxidation treatment, corrosion resistance ≥72 hours salt spray), Single weight approximately 0.28 kg, Applicable temperature: -40℃ to +150℃, Compatible grease: NLGI 2 lithium-based grease or SAE 15W-40 machine oil
Key Dimensions
Inner diameter: 44.45 mm (compatible shaft diameter tolerance 0/-0.02 mm), Outer diameter: 57.15 mm (tolerance 0/-0.03 mm), Length: 25.40 mm (tolerance ±0.10 mm), Wall thickness: 6.35 mm, Inner hole surface roughness Ra≤0.4 μm, Chamfer at both ends: C1.5×45°, Compatible housing bore diameter 57.15 mm (Tolerance +0.02/-0.01 mm)
Compatible Models and Applications: Compatible with Cat C15 engine connecting rod bushings, 349 excavator boom pin bushings, 980K loader boom cylinder bushings, and D11 bulldozer balance shaft bushings. One piece per component, installed between the housing bore and the pin, providing sliding support and positioning.
Performance Parameters: Rated radial dynamic load ≥55 kN, rated radial static load ≥85 kN, coefficient of friction μ≤0.002 (oil lubrication), wear life ≥1800 hours (under rated load), limiting speed ≤1200 r/min (oil lubrication), impact resistance ≥90 kN (instantaneous).
Structural and Performance Advantages:
Wear-resistant and reliable: High-strength 20CrMnTi alloy steel pipe with high hardness and wear resistance due to internal quenching treatment. Oxidized surface enhances corrosion resistance, suitable for harsh working conditions in engineering machinery, extending component service life.
Precise Fit: Strict dimensional tolerance control ensures a precise interference fit (0.01-0.03 mm) with the original pin and housing bore, guaranteeing stable support and no looseness after installation.
High-Efficiency Lubrication: The straight cylindrical structure facilitates even distribution of lubricating oil/grease. Low surface roughness of the inner bore reduces friction loss and energy consumption, accommodating both oil and grease lubrication.
Easy Installation: Can be installed via cold pressing or hot fitting (cold pressing pressure ≤40 kN, hot fitting temperature 80-100℃), requiring no complex tooling and offering high installation efficiency.
Installation and Maintenance Points: Before installation, clean the inner and outer surfaces of the bushing, pin, and housing bore. Check the bushing for cracks, deformation, and damage to the inner bore. During cold pressing, apply even pressure with a special pressure block to press the bushing into the housing bore. During hot fitting, heat the bushing and quickly insert it into the housing bore; it will automatically fit after cooling. After installation, check that the clearance between the bushing and pin is 0.01-0.03 mm to ensure smooth sliding without jamming.
During maintenance every 1200 hours: Inspect the bushing wear (replace if inner bore wear ≥ 0.1 mm), replenish lubricating oil/grease, and inspect the wear of the pin and housing bore. If wear is severe, replace both to prevent premature bushing failure.
Prioritize genuine parts. Aftermarket parts may have issues such as higher material impurities, insufficient hardness, and dimensional deviations, which can easily lead to rapid bushing wear, exacerbating wear on the shaft and housing, and affecting equipment operation.
