CAT 385-3798 (3853798) is a Caterpillar genuine YM locating sleeve (shaft locating spacer) used for bearing positioning and axial clearance compensation in rotating components such as engines and hydraulic pumps. The following is purely precise information (no additional description): Cat®…
Core Parameters and Information
Item Details
Part Model: CAT 385-3798 YM Shaft Locating Sleeve (Spacer Type, Rigid Positioning)
Part Type: Rigid locating sleeve for shafts, used for axial positioning and clearance adjustment of bearings/gears/seals, suitable for medium-high speed and medium-load conditions, ensuring component coaxiality and operational accuracy.
Material: 42CrMo alloy steel, tempered to a hardness of HB280-320, surface hard chrome plated (thickness 0.015-0.025 mm), rust-proof and wear-resistant, suitable for operating conditions from -40℃ to 180℃.
Key Dimensions: Inner diameter 38.00 mm (1.4961 in), outer diameter… 48.00 mm (1.8898 in), length 15.00 mm (0.5906 in), coaxiality ≤0.01 mm, end face perpendicularity ≤0.01 mm, surface roughness Ra≤0.8 μm
Structural Features: Integral rigid structure, no openings, transition fit with shaft (fit clearance 0.005-0.010 mm), flat end face, used for precise positioning and clearance compensation, ensuring stable axial position of components, suitable for medium and high speed rotation, no elastic compensation function.
Compatible Structures: Engine camshaft bearing positioning, hydraulic pump drive shaft spacer, gearbox output shaft gear positioning, fan drive shaft seal positioning.
Applicable Working Conditions: Suitable for axial load ≤12.0 kN, speed ≤8000 rpm, no strong impact conditions, used for rotating components requiring precise axial positioning, ensuring smooth operation and component life.
Compatible Machines and Assemblies:
Excavator: CAT 320GC, 323GC (Engine Camshaft Bearing Positioning Assembly, Hydraulic Pump Drive Shaft Spacer Assembly)
Loaders: CAT 950GC, 966GC (Transmission Output Shaft Positioning Assembly, Fan Drive Shaft Spacer Assembly)
Road Rollers: CAT CB64, CB66B (Vibratory Shaft Bearing Positioning Assembly, Travel Drive Axle Spacer Assembly)
Compatible Assemblies: 320GC Engine Camshaft Positioning Assembly, 950GC Transmission Output Shaft Spacer Assembly, CB64 Vibratory Shaft Bearing Positioning Assembly
Installation and Fitting Points:
Before installation, clean the shaft and sleeve inner bore, removing burrs, oil stains, and rust. Check the sleeve for cracks and deformation. Ensure the inner bore and shaft have a transition fit (fitting clearance 0.005-0.010 mm) to guarantee coaxiality.
Tap the end face gently with a copper hammer or special installation tool, pressing evenly into the positioning position on the shaft. Do not forcefully tap to prevent sleeve deformation and shaft damage. Ensure the end face fits snugly against the bearing/gear.
After installation, the axial clearance should be ≤0.02 mm, and there should be no abnormal vibration or noise during operation. Check the coaxiality and perpendicularity to ensure that the components operate coaxially without jamming.
When disassembling, use a special puller to apply force evenly and pull out the component. Do not pry it open forcefully to avoid damaging the shaft and sleeve. Before reuse, check the dimensions and deformation. Replace the component if it does not meet the requirements.
