CAT 3J-6559 is a Caterpillar original bearing cap, primarily used for positioning and sealing the pusharm, track frame, or bearing housing of tracked equipment such as bulldozers. It prevents bearing displacement and the intrusion of dust/moisture, and is compatible with models such as D5, D6D/D6H/D6R, and D7G.
Core Technical Parameters
Item Details
Part Model: CAT 3J-6559 Bearing Cap
Material: Low carbon alloy steel (Q345/16Mn), powder-coated or galvanized surface, corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant, suitable for outdoor working conditions
Key Dimensions: Length approx. 157.5mm, Width approx. 55.9mm, Height approx. 76.2mm, Weight approx. 2.73kg, with 2-3 M16 mounting bolt holes, hole spacing adapted to bearing housing
Compatible Models: Mainstream compatible with D5, D6D/D6H/D6R, D7G and other bulldozers, used for fixing and protecting boom bearing housings, track frame guide wheel bearings, balance beam bearings, etc.
Performance Characteristics High rigidity, able to withstand impact and vibration; sealed structure prevents impurities from entering, protecting bearings and shafts, and extending component life.
Core Functions and Structure
Bearing Positioning and Fixing: Serving as a cover plate for the bearing housing, it is fastened with bolts to prevent axial displacement of the bearing during operation, ensuring shaft alignment and stable rotation.
Sealing Protection: Forms a sealed cavity with the bearing housing, blocking dust, mud, rainwater, etc., reducing grease leakage, and lowering bearing wear and maintenance frequency.
Load Dispersion: The alloy steel material disperses the impact load on the bearing, protecting the bearing housing and machine structure, and preventing localized stress concentration that could lead to deformation or breakage.
Installation and Maintenance Points
Installation Specifications: Before installation, clean the bearing cover, bearing housing, and bolt holes to remove oil, rust, and impurities; check the bearing cover for deformation and cracks, and ensure the sealing surface is flat and undamaged.
After the bearing is installed, align the bearing cover with the bearing housing and use a torque wrench to tighten the bolts to the torque specified in the manual (e.g., 80-100 N·m for M16 bolts), ensuring a tight seal without looseness.
After installation, check if the bearing rotates freely and without abnormal noise, and if there is any leakage at the seal. Ensure the bearing cover is installed correctly.
Maintenance Recommendations: Every 500-800 working hours, check: whether the bearing cover bolts are loose, whether the sealing surface is intact, and replace it immediately if rust or deformation is found.
When replacing bearings, simultaneously check the wear of the bearings and shaft system. Replace the bearings and grease if necessary to ensure stable equipment operation.
