The CAT 416-5528 GD (4165528) is a Caterpillar General Duty exhaust muffler assembly, suitable for small and medium-sized construction machinery. The following is precise information (without additional description):
Core Parameters and Information
Item Details
Part Model: CAT 416-5528 GD Exhaust Muffler Assembly (SILENCER GP-EXHAUST GD)
Part Type: General Duty Exhaust Muffler, used for engine exhaust noise reduction and airflow stabilization, including muffler cylinder, inlet/outlet flanges, internal muffler core, lifting lugs, and sealing gaskets
Material: Housing is Q235 carbon steel, inner cylinder is 409 stainless steel, muffler filler is high-temperature resistant glass fiber, surface hot-dip galvanized + high-temperature weather-resistant paint (temperature resistance 600℃)
Key Dimensions: Overall length approx. 520 mm (20.47 in), diameter approx. 165 mm (6.50 in), inlet inner diameter 76.2 mm 76.2 mm (3.00 in) outlet inner diameter, 12 mm flange thickness, 380 mm lifting lug spacing
Structural Features: Resistive + resistive composite noise reduction, built-in multi-cavity baffle and perforated pipe, with double lifting lugs for fixing, inlet/outlet with sealing flange faces
Compatible Structure: Matches engine exhaust manifold outlet and exhaust pipe front section, used for engine exhaust noise reduction and exhaust airflow guidance
Applicable Working Conditions: Medium and low load, medium and low speed, suitable for dusty and vibrating outdoor working environments, used for general construction machinery exhaust systems
Compatible Models:
CAT 416D/416E Backhoe Loader (C4.4 Engine Exhaust System)
CAT 420D/420E Backhoe Loader (C4.4 Engine Exhaust End)
CAT 906H/907H Wheel Loader (C3.4B Engine Exhaust System)
CAT 246D/247D Compact Tracked Loader (C3.3B Engine Exhaust End)
Installation and Fitting Points:
The flange and exhaust pipe are flat seals, fastened with M10×35 bolts at a torque of 45–50 N·m, and fitted with a graphite composite gasket to prevent air leakage.
The lifting lugs are clearance-fitted to the vehicle body/frame spreader, positioned with Φ16 mm pins, and cotter pins are used to prevent them from falling off, avoiding the transmission of vibration through rigid connections.
Before installation, clean the flange face and lifting lug holes, and check that the muffler is free from deformation and damage, and that the gaskets are free from aging and cracks.
Axially, it is positioned against the exhaust manifold; radially, it is unrestrained to ensure free thermal expansion and contraction. After installation, check for air leakage, abnormal noise, and that the spreader is secure.
As required by the model manual, check the fastener torque and sealing condition every 1500 working hours, and tighten or replace the gaskets as needed.
