The CAT 441-6210 is a Caterpillar inline 4-cylinder cast iron cylinder block, adapted for the C4.4 ACERT diesel engine, used in models such as the 320D2/323D2 excavator. It serves as the core load-bearing and mounting foundation for the engine, possessing high strength, high rigidity, and high pressure resistance characteristics to ensure the stable operation of components such as cylinders and crankshafts. The following is structured technical and application information:

Core Technical Parameters

Item Details
Basic Attributes
Model 441-6210, Type: Linerless integral cast iron cylinder block, Material: High-strength gray cast iron (HT300, tensile strength ≥300 MPa, hardness HB 220-250), Single weight approximately 280 kg, Operating temperature -40℃ to +120℃, Suitable for water-cooled heat dissipation systems, Design life ≥15000 hours (normal operating conditions), Meets Tier 3/Stage IIIB emission standards, Suitable for C4.4 engine (4 cylinders, displacement 4.4 L)

Key Dimensions
Cylinder bore 105 mm (tolerance +0.02/-0.01 mm), Stroke 127 mm, Cylinder center distance 130 mm, Crankshaft main bearing bore diameter 85 mm (tolerance +0.01/-0.005 mm), Overall cylinder block length 890 mm, Overall width 650 mm in diameter, 780 mm in total height, main bearing bore coaxiality ≤0.02 mm, cylinder roundness ≤0.005 mm, cylindricity ≤0.01 mm.
Compatible Models and Parts: Compatible with Cat 320D2 and 323D2 excavators, 906M loaders, and other equipment equipped with C4.4 ACERT engines. Supporting components include 308-9810 sleeve bearings, 5P-0960 extreme pressure lithium-based grease, and 103-8329 elastic retaining rings. Can be used in combination with 417-3389 cylinder head gaskets, 348-3283 crankcases, etc.

Performance Parameters: Maximum burst pressure 18 MPa, maximum allowable piston side pressure 35 kN, main bearing bore load capacity ≥80 kN, cylinder rigidity (bending deformation ≤0.03 mm/100 mm length), fatigue strength ≥150 MPa, sealing performance (water pressure test 0.6…). (MPa, no leakage after 5 minutes)

Structural and Performance Advantages: Constructed entirely of gray cast iron, possessing high rigidity and deformation resistance, it can withstand the high pressure and vibration during engine operation, reducing cylinder deformation and ensuring combustion efficiency and sealing.

Linerless design; the cylinder inner wall is hardened and honed, with a surface roughness Ra≤0.3 μm, improving wear resistance and lubrication performance, and reducing piston ring wear.

Integrated precision-machined surfaces such as main bearing housings, cylinder bores, and camshaft bores ensure high positioning accuracy, guaranteeing the installation and operation accuracy of components such as the crankshaft and camshaft, and adapting to the compact layout of the C4.4 engine.

Installation and Maintenance Points: Before installation, clean the cylinder block surface and bolt holes, checking for cracks, sand holes, or machining defects. Tighten to the specified torque (main bearing cap bolts 120 N・m + 90° rotation). Apply sealant when installing the cylinder head gasket to ensure a reliable seal.

After installation, a water pressure test is performed to check for leaks in the cooling water and oil passages. When installing components such as the crankshaft and piston, ensure that the fit clearances meet the standards. Add suitable engine oil and coolant, and perform a no-load test run to check for any abnormal noises or leaks.

Maintenance: Every 2000 hours, check the cylinder block surface for leaks and cracks. Measure the cylinder roundness and cylindricity. If the wear exceeds 0.02 mm, cylinder boring repair is required. If the main bearing bore wear exceeds 0.01 mm, the cylinder block must be replaced or bushing repair is required.
