CAT 453-3058 is a Caterpillar genuine single-row tapered roller bearing assembly, suitable for differentials or drive shafts in heavy-duty equipment gearboxes/final drives. Its core function is to simultaneously withstand radial and bidirectional axial loads, support and position the rotating shaft, suppress runout and vibration, and ensure stable operation of the transmission system under heavy-load conditions.

Core Technical Parameters

Item Details
Part Model: CAT 453-3058 Single Row Tapered Roller Bearing Assembly, Original Part Number 4530188, includes inner ring, outer ring, rollers, and cage. No official direct replacement model. A heavy-duty component.

Material: High-carbon chromium bearing steel (GCr15SiMn), integrally quenched, surface hardness HRC 60-64, roller surface ultra-precision ground, cage made of stamped steel plate, high strength and impact resistance.

Key Dimensions: Inner diameter 85mm, outer diameter 150mm, width 35mm, cone angle 12°, number of rollers 18, single roller diameter 14mm. Suitable for corresponding drive shafts and bearing housings, ensuring assembly accuracy.

Compatible Models: CAT 336D/349D excavators, D8R/D9R bulldozers, 988H Used in loaders and other applications for final drive shaft support, differential housing bearing positions, and planetary gear carrier end supports, bearing heavy loads and impact loads.

Performance Characteristics: Rated radial load 120kN, rated axial load 65kN, operating temperature -40℃ to 120℃, limiting speed 2000r/min, suitable for high-frequency start-stop and harsh working conditions.

Core Functions and Structure:

Combined Load Bearing: The tapered roller structure can simultaneously bear radial and bidirectional axial loads, adapting to the complex stress environment of the final drive/differential, preventing radial and axial movement of the shaft system.

Precise Positioning: The interference fit with the shaft and bearing housing achieves precise shaft positioning, ensuring coaxiality of transmission components, reducing operating vibration and noise, and extending component life.

Efficient Lubrication: The cage has oil grooves that store and evenly distribute lubricating oil, forming an oil film to reduce friction, energy loss, and component wear.

Installation and Maintenance Points

Installation Specifications: Clean the surfaces of the bearing, shaft, and bearing housing, checking for cracks, rust, and other damage. Ensure the shaft and bearing housing fit tolerances meet requirements (interference 0.01-0.03mm).

Use the hot-fit method (heating temperature 80-100℃) to install the inner ring and the cold-fit method for the outer ring. Avoid impacts that could deform the bearing. After installation, check that the end face runout is ≤0.03mm.

Tighten the bearing end cap bolts according to the original manufacturer’s torque standard to ensure proper bearing preload and prevent loosening during operation.

Maintenance Recommendations:
Every 2000 working hours, check for abnormal noises and temperature rises in the bearing, and ensure the lubricating oil is clean. If pitting, peeling, or other damage is found on the rollers or raceways, replace the components immediately.

Regularly change the transmission system lubricating oil, maintaining oil cleanliness (NAS 9 grade) to prevent contaminants from entering the bearing and causing abnormal wear.
