CAT 462-3212 is a Caterpillar original equipment bottom liner cylinder bore insert sleeve, a wear-resistant protective insert for the bottom of the engine cylinder block. It is suitable for the bottom of the cylinder bore of heavy-duty engines such as Cat C13/C15/C18, and is used to isolate piston side pressure from cylinder block friction, compensate for cylinder bore wear, and ensure sealing and piston movement accuracy. Material and Process
Base is high-strength gray cast iron (HT300), inner hole surface hardened (HRC) 50-55mm hardened layer depth 1.2-1.5mm), phosphated outer surface (film thickness 5-8 μm, corrosion resistant), finely honed inner surface (Ra≤0.2 μm, suitable for piston ring seals)
Compatible Engines: Compatible with Cat C13 (345D/349D excavators), C15 (374D/365C excavators), and C18 (mining trucks/generator sets) engines. Installed at the bottom of the cylinder block, used to repair cylinder bore bottom wear or strengthen the cylinder block bottom load-bearing capacity.
Sealing and Fit: Interference fit with cylinder bore (interference 0.015-0.025 mm). The bottom is sealed with an O-ring (φ140×3.1 mm, fluororubber) to prevent coolant leakage; after installation, the end face runout must be ≤0.02 mm.
