The CAT 4T-8086 is a Caterpillar genuine double-row tapered roller bearing, suitable for heavy-duty machinery transmission systems. It is designed to withstand high radial and bidirectional axial combined loads, and is suitable for heavy-duty applications such as the 3406 series engine and D8N bulldozer, ensuring stable operation of transmission components. The following are key information.

Core Technical Parameters

Item Details
Part Model: CAT 4T-8086 (includes inner ring/outer ring/double row rollers/cage; some applications require matching bearing housing rings)

Material: High carbon chromium bearing steel; inner and outer rings and rollers undergo carburizing, quenching, and tempering treatment; surface anti-rust coating; cage is made of high-strength stamped steel plate.

Key Dimensions: Inner diameter approx. 101.6mm (4.00in), outer diameter approx. 190.5mm (7.50in), width approx. 57.53mm (2.265in); cone angle adaptable to combined load transfer.

Single Weight: Approx. 13.07kg (28.8 lbs)

Compatible Models: CAT 3406/3406B/3406C engine crankshaft bearing position, D8N bulldozer drive axle differential, 8A tracked tractor steering clutch, and other heavy-duty transmission components.

Performance Characteristics: Double row roller design; radial load capacity is higher than that of a single row. 1.8-2.2 times; capable of withstanding bidirectional axial loads, suitable for heavy-duty frequent start-stop conditions; operating temperature -40℃ to +150℃, resistant to impact and vibration, long fatigue life.

Structure and Core Functions

Double-row load-bearing reinforcement: Double-row tapered rollers make tapered contact with the inner and outer raceways, simultaneously transmitting high radial and bidirectional axial loads, suitable for the complex stress conditions of heavy-duty mechanical transmission systems, preventing axial movement of components.

High-precision and stable transmission: Carburized and quenched bearing steel with a surface hardness of HRC 60-64, rollers and raceways make line contact, ensuring uniform load distribution, reducing vibration and noise, and guaranteeing power transmission accuracy.

Heavy-duty wear-resistant design: The cage uses high-strength stamped steel plate to prevent roller misalignment, suitable for high-speed operation and impact loads under heavy-duty conditions, extending bearing service life.

Suitable Scenarios and Installation/Maintenance Points

Suitable Scenarios: Primarily used in heavy-duty transmission components such as crankshaft supports for 3406 series engines, differentials for D8N bulldozer drive axles, and steering clutches for tracked tractors, suitable for operating conditions requiring high combined loads.

Installation Specifications:
Before installation, clean the journal and bearing housing bore to ensure no burrs or rust. Journal tolerance should be controlled within f6, and housing bore tolerance within H7. The fit clearance should conform to the machine model specifications.

Use a dedicated press to smoothly press in the bearing. Do not strike the inner or outer rings to prevent damage to the rollers and raceways. During installation, pay attention to the bearing orientation, ensuring the large end of the double-row rollers faces the load direction to guarantee load-bearing capacity.

Adjust the preload according to the machine model requirements. Avoid over-tightening, which can cause overheating; avoid under-tightening, which can cause vibration, affecting bearing life and transmission accuracy.

Maintenance Recommendations:
Check the bearing’s operating condition every 1500 working hours. Monitor temperature and noise to determine if there are any issues such as wear or poor lubrication. Replenish or replace grease/oil as needed.

Replace the parts immediately if you find that the rollers are peeling off, the raceways are pitted, or the clearance is too large, to prevent the failure of the parts from causing transmission failure; spare parts should be stored in a sealed container to avoid moisture or impurities.
