CAT 523-0047 is a Caterpillar original SEM (Sleeve – Element Metal) metal-based composite sleeve, suitable for track tensioning cylinders, guide wheel axles, or connecting rod pins in tracked construction machinery, used for support and wear-resistant guidance. The following is pure original data and does not include replacement parts information.

Core Technical Parameters (Raw Data)

Item Details
Basic Attributes
Model 523-0047, Type SEM Metal Composite Sleeve, Suitable for Track Tensioning Cylinders, Guide Wheel Shafts, etc., Single Weight 5.6 kg, Working Temperature -40℃ to +120℃, Suitable for Anti-wear Hydraulic Oil and Lithium-based Grease, Used for Shaft Pin Support and Guiding under Heavy-duty Conditions, Reducing Friction and Impact, and Extending Component Life

Key Dimensions (Metric / Imperial)
Inner Diameter 120.0 mm (Tolerance 0/-0.025 mm), Outer Diameter 140.0 mm (Tolerance +0.030/+0.010 mm), Total Length 120.0 mm (Tolerance ±0.12 mm), Steel Back Thickness 5.0 mm, Composite Wear-resistant Layer Thickness 2.5 mm, Chamfers at Both Ends 3×45°, Suitable Shaft Diameter φ120 mm (Tolerance f7), Mounting Groove Diameter φ140 mm (Tolerance f7) H7)

Performance Parameters: Steel backing material: 45# steel, tensile strength ≥600 MPa; Composite wear-resistant layer: copper-lead alloy, hardness HB 80-100, friction coefficient ≤0.08, load capacity ≥250 MPa, wear life ≥10000 hours, surface roughness Ra≤1.6 μm, coaxiality ≤0.04 mm, suitable for high-frequency vibration and heavy-load conditions.

Structure and Adaptability Characteristics:

Composite wear-resistant structure: The steel backing provides rigid support, and the composite wear-resistant layer reduces friction and wear, suitable for high-frequency reciprocating and rotating parts such as track tensioner pistons and guide wheel shafts, absorbing impact loads and improving operational stability.

Precise positioning and installation: The straight cylindrical structure with chamfered ends facilitates cold-pressing into the mounting slot without additional fasteners. After installation, it precisely matches the axle pin, ensuring coaxiality of movement, suitable for tracked chassis parts with limited space.

Heavy-duty compatibility: Capable of withstanding combined radial and axial loads during track movement, compatible with track tensioning systems, guide wheel axles, and connecting rod pins on Cat 320D2, 336D2, and 966M models.

Installation and maintenance points (raw data)

Installation: Clean the sleeve and mounting groove (free of oil and metal filings). Use a special press to cold-press into place with a pressing force ≤120 kN. Ensure the sleeve end face is flush with the mounting groove surface. After installation, the clearance between the sleeve and the axle pin should be 0.06-0.15 mm, and the coaxiality ≤0.05 mm.

Maintenance: Check wear and clearance every 1500 hours. Replace immediately if wear ≥2.0 mm or composite layer peeling. For long-term storage, apply rust-preventive oil to the sleeve surface and seal to prevent corrosion.
