The CAT 527-8777 is a Caterpillar double-row tapered roller bearing assembly that integrates inner and outer rings, rollers, cage, and pre-adjusting shims. It is suitable for drive axles/gearboxes of excavators and loaders, and can withstand bidirectional heavy loads and impact vibrations, ensuring precise positioning and long service life of transmission components. The following is structured technical and application information:
Core Technical Parameters

Structural and Performance Advantages
Bidirectional Heavy-Duty Bearing: The double-row tapered roller design can simultaneously withstand bidirectional axial and radial heavy loads, suitable for core components requiring bidirectional positioning, such as drive axles, preventing component movement.
Precise Pre-Adjustment: Components include pre-adjustment shims with factory-calibrated clearance, eliminating the need for additional adjustments during installation, improving assembly efficiency, ensuring transmission coaxiality, and reducing vibration and noise.
High Impact Resistance and Rigidity: The stamped steel cage has high rigidity, precisely guiding roller movement, suitable for impact and vibration conditions in mining, infrastructure, and other applications, extending bearing life.
Reliable Protection: The non-contact dust cover effectively prevents dust and moisture intrusion, reducing grease leakage and lowering maintenance frequency.
Installation and Maintenance Points:
Before installation, clean the shaft diameter, bearing housing, and components to remove oil, rust, and burrs. For the inner ring, heat-fit (80-100℃) and for the outer ring, heat-fit using a special tool; do not strike. Pre-install pre-adjusting shims to ensure clearance is within the 0.020-0.035 mm range (Cat® Parts).
After installation, check for radial runout ≤0.025 mm and axial runout ≤0.03 mm. Perform a 2-hour trial run; bearing temperature ≤85℃, with no abnormal noise or leakage. Tighten bolts in a symmetrical, cross-sectional sequence to 55-65 N·m.
Maintenance: Check clearance and seals every 2000 hours. Replace if clearance >0.045 mm or if the dust cover is damaged. Add grease every 600 hours, to 1/3-1/2 of the bearing cavity volume, to avoid excessive temperature rise.
