CAT 528-7160 (GD version) is a Caterpillar genuine heavy-duty steel sleeve bearing (bushing). GD indicates regional/process compatibility, suitable for articulated parts of construction machinery. It features high strength, wear resistance, and impact resistance, and is used in heavy-duty load-bearing points such as booms, sticks, and cylinders to ensure the stability and lifespan of moving parts.

Core Technical Parameters

Item Details
Part Model: CAT 528-7160 (GD Version Sleeve Bearing/Bushing)

Material: High-strength alloy steel, overall tempering + surface hardening, good core toughness, surface hardness HRC 58-62, wear and shear resistant

Surface Treatment: Phosphating/blackening for rust prevention + oil film protection, some parts with hard chrome plating, friction reduction and corrosion resistance, suitable for dusty and humid working conditions

Key Dimensions: Inner diameter 45mm (1.772in), outer diameter 55mm (2.165in), length 60mm (2.362in), wall thickness 5mm, inner hole with spiral oil groove, suitable for pin diameter 45mm, mounting hole diameter 55mm

Compatible Models: Excavators 320GC, 323GC; Loaders 924K, 930K; Road Rollers CS66B; Engines C7.1 is used in boom cylinder lugs, stick connecting rods, steering knuckles, balance beams, and other components.

Performance Characteristics: Features an oil groove design for excellent oil storage and lubrication; resists deformation and fatigue under heavy loads, adaptable to frequent swaying and impacts; GD version optimizes tolerances and surface finish, adaptable to specific operating conditions, resulting in higher assembly consistency.

Structure and Core Functions:

Heavy-duty support and force transmission: Alloy steel material with a hardened surface layer withstands high radial loads and shear forces, transmitting forces from the boom, cylinders, and other components to ensure precise movement trajectory.

Lubrication and wear resistance: The inner spiral oil groove stores grease, forming a continuous oil film, reducing friction and wear with the pins, extending the life of the articulated joints, and reducing maintenance frequency.

Positioning and guidance: High-precision inner and outer diameter fit ensures coaxiality with the pins and mounting holes, limiting radial displacement, preventing component wear and abnormal noise, and improving motion stability.

GD Version Optimization: Optimized dimensional tolerances, surface roughness, and heat treatment processes for specific regional operating conditions, adapting to harsh environments such as high temperatures and high dust levels, resulting in superior consistency and durability.

Installation and Maintenance Points

Installation Specifications: Clean the mounting holes, pins, and bearings, removing burrs, rust, and impurities to ensure no foreign objects affect assembly accuracy.

Use a press to smoothly press in the bearings, avoiding heavy impacts to the end face to prevent deformation or damage to the hardened layer. After pressing, check for proper placement and straightness.

Before installation, add lithium-based grease (CAT 1U-8886 recommended) to the inner oil groove. After assembly, replenish the grease again to ensure adequate lubrication.

Maintenance Recommendations: Inspect every 800-1200 working hours, checking for wear, clearance, and oil leaks. Replace immediately if clearance > 0.5mm or if surface scratches or peeling appear.

Inspect the matching pins and seals simultaneously. Replace the entire set if wear exceeds limits to prevent rapid failure of new bearings.

Store in a sealed, moisture-proof environment to prevent rust from affecting fit accuracy and lubrication.
