CAT 574-1013 is a Caterpillar genuine needle roller bearing assembly with cage, commonly used in planetary gears and cross shafts of transmissions, torque converters, or drive axles. It withstands large radial loads in situations with limited radial space, is suitable for heavy-duty and impact conditions, and ensures smooth operation of transmission components. The following are key information.

Core Technical Parameters

Item Details
Part Model: CAT 574-1013 (Needle Roller Bearing with Cage, Single Set)

Material: Bearing steel (SUJ2/52100), needle rollers carburized and quenched, hardness HRC 60-64; cage is stamped low-carbon alloy steel, galvanized for rust prevention.

Key Dimensions: Inner diameter approx. 38.1mm (1.5in), outer diameter approx. 50.8mm (2.0in), width approx. 25.4mm (1.0in), needle roller diameter approx. 3mm, quantity: 12 pieces

Single Weight: Approx. 0.18kg (0.4 lbs)

Compatible Models: CAT 950H/966H loaders, 320D/323D excavators, D6N bulldozers, etc., gearbox second/third gear planetary carriers, torque converter guide shafts

Performance Characteristics: Rated radial load ≥28kN, limiting speed 4500rpm, operating temperature – 40℃ to +120℃, cage-separated needle rollers prevent friction, suitable for high-frequency speed changes and impact conditions.

Structure and Core Functions

Compact Load Capacity: Slender needle rollers (L/D≥5) and small radial cross-section provide high radial load capacity within limited space, suitable for compact transmission component layouts such as gearboxes, with a load capacity 30%-50% higher than ball bearings of the same inner diameter.

Stable Guiding: Stamped cage precisely positions the needle rollers, avoiding contact friction, reducing operating noise and heat generation, improving transmission efficiency, and suitable for high-speed conditions.

Shock Resistance: Hardened needle rollers can withstand frequent start-stop and load impacts, suitable for dynamic load changes in heavy-duty engineering machinery operations.

Easy Maintenance: Integrated assembly design eliminates the need for separate needle roller assembly; it directly embeds into the bearing housing during installation, facilitating quick on-site replacement and reducing downtime.

Suitable Scenarios and Installation/Maintenance Points

Suitable Scenarios: For applications with limited radial space and high load requirements, such as planetary gears in transmissions, torque converter guide shafts, and drive axle cross shafts. Suitable for heavy-duty operations in mining, infrastructure, and other applications using Cat®…

Installation Specifications: Clean the journal and bearing housing bore, ensuring no burrs, oil, or rust. The journal surface roughness Ra ≤ 0.8μm, and the clearance should be controlled between 0.01-0.03mm.

Use cold mounting (at ambient temperature) or gentle pressing. Do not forcefully strike the needle rollers and cage to avoid deformation and damage.

After installation, add EP extreme pressure gear oil to ensure adequate lubrication of the needle rollers and prevent premature failure due to dry friction.

Maintenance Recommendations: Check the bearing condition every 1500 working hours. Replace immediately if needle roller pitting, cage deformation, or clearance exceeding 0.1mm is observed.

Change the transmission oil regularly, ensuring an oil cleanliness level of NAS 8 or higher to prevent impurities from entering the bearing and causing wear.

When storing for an extended period, apply anti-rust grease and rotate the parts to prevent the needle rollers from rusting and jamming.
