CAT 583-4356 is a Caterpillar original YM series bearing ring (also known as a shaft ring/seat ring), which is suitable for moving joints such as hydraulic cylinders and connecting rods. It is used in conjunction with YM sleeve bearings (such as 584-5032) for positioning, support and bearing radial/axial loads, protecting the shaft and mounting seat. It is a core wear part of high-frequency stressed parts of engineering machinery, ensuring the motion accuracy and service life of the components. The following are the core information and key points:
Core Technical Parameters
Item Details
Part Model: CAT 583-4356 (5834356) YM Bearing Ring, original factory specific, suitable for cylinder piston pins, connecting rod joints, etc. in specific equipment
Material: 50Mn carbon structural steel, surface hardened + blackened oxidation treatment, hardness HRC 58-62, wear-resistant layer thickness ≥0.8mm, corrosion resistance ≥72 hours neutral salt spray test
Key Dimensions: Inner diameter 48mm, outer diameter 60mm, thickness 12mm, chamfer C1, suitable shaft diameter tolerance f7, mounting hole tolerance H7, compatible with 584-5032 sleeve bearing, interference fit 0.01-0.02mm
Compatible Models: CAT 320D/323D excavator, 966H loader, D6R Used in bulldozers, etc., for piston pins or connecting rod joints of boom cylinders and stick cylinders.
Performance Parameters: Rated load capacity 30MPa, operating temperature -30℃ to 120℃, compatible with mineral oil/synthetic hydraulic oil, reciprocating frequency ≤5Hz, service life ≥8000 working hours.
Core Functions and Structure:
Positioning and Support: Matches with sleeve bearings, precisely positions shaft parts, provides stable support, withstands radial and axial combined loads, and prevents shaft wear.
Wear Resistance and Protection: High-hardness quenched surface reduces friction and wear with bearings and shafts, protects mounting holes and journals, and extends the overall life of components.
Load Transfer: Distributes the load of moving parts evenly to the machine body, reduces local stress concentration, and prevents mounting seat deformation or cracking.
Sealing Compatibility: Outer ring has an interference fit with the mounting hole, and inner ring has a clearance fit with the sleeve bearing. Used with seals, it prevents impurities from entering the bearing clearance and ensures lubrication.
Installation and Maintenance Points
Installation Specifications: Clean the mounting holes, bearing rings, and matching sleeve bearings, removing burrs and oil stains. Use cold fitting or a special press-fit tool; do not strike to prevent deformation or surface damage.
After installation, check coaxiality; deviation ≤ 0.02mm. Ensure the clearance with the sleeve bearing is 0.01-0.02mm, allowing for smooth, unobstructed movement.
Maintenance Recommendations: Every 300 working hours, check for bearing ring wear and surface peeling. Replace if radial clearance > 0.15mm. Simultaneously check the matching sleeve bearing and journal to ensure no abnormal wear.
Regularly clean the hydraulic oil to prevent impurities from entering and accelerating wear on the bearing rings and bearings. When replacing bearings, it is recommended to replace them simultaneously with the matching sleeve bearing to ensure compatibility.
Only use genuine 583-4356 bearing rings. Do not substitute with ordinary steel rings to avoid premature component failure and decreased motion accuracy due to incompatible materials, hardness, or dimensions.
